Chapter 3: Harmony
If you want to know why
There's love that cannot lie
Love is strong
It only cares of joyful giving
If we try we shall see
In this bliss we cannot feel
Fear of dread
We stop existing and start living
Ohno woke up with a moan, his head aching like hell. The young prince blinked, seeing Jun's arms around him.
"Do you feel better?" Jun asked in a yawn.
"Yes, thank you." Ohno muttered, moving away quickly.
"You almost cried the whole night. I hope you're okay now." Jun smiled.
"Hun."
"Satoshi!" Nino's voice made Ohno jump and the prince joined him after a quick bow toward Jun.
"Don't stay next to him." Nino snapped.
"Why?"
"I don't trust him."
"But he is kind, I like him." Ohno protested.
"Okay, if you prefer to stay with him." Nino replied coldly.
"Wait, Kazu!" Ohno grabbed Nino's arm to stop him.
"Why are you so angry at me?"
"I'm not."
"Yes, you are." Ohno said with sadness.
"Sorry..." Nino sighed.
"I prefer to be with my Kazu if you were wondering." Ohno whispered shyly. The younger turned around and seeing Ohno's red cheeks, hugged him tightly.
"I also prefer to be with my Toshi." Nino grinned.
"Thank you, Kazu." Ohno smiled happily, burying his face in the guard's neck.
"Eat your breakfast, Teddy." Nino patted Ohno's hair softly before leaving. The prince's eyes met Jun's who was staring at him from the river, sadness shining in his eyes. Shrugging, Ohno joined Sakurai who was eating his breakfast as if it was the most wonderful thing of the world.
"Be careful not to eat your own hands." Ohno smirked.
"I'm sure it would have a good taste." Sho chuckled.
"Make me remember to never stay alone with you on a lost island, you would eat me because of your stomach on legs." Ohno teased.
"I wouldn't be able to eat my own prince. Maybe Nino, yes but not you." Sho smirked.
Oohhh, what a nice friend I have!" Ohno said sarcastically, making them laugh loudly.
"Eat, Ohno-sama."
"Stop calling me like that too!" Ohno pouted.
"Sorry sorry." Sho laughed.
They walked a long time in an uncomfortable silence. Jun was acting coldly toward Ohno who didn't understand this changement and Nino was watching around with Sho. They stopped next to a river, allowing Ohno to improve his powers.
"You're weak!" A voice snapped behind the prince who jumped, seeing Jun.
"I don't need your opinion, thank you." Ohno mumbled.
"Then, you won't make any progress." The younger replied.
"Why don't you leave me alone, don't lose your precious time at talking to me." Ohno muttered.
"Sorry for what happened earlier, I'm not a morning person." Jun mumbled, sitting next to Ohno.
"I see." Ohno whispered, creating a wave with the water.
"It's not bad but you need some training, you're too slow and you don't control the water good enough."
"What do you mean?" Ohno frowned.
"You aren't listening to the water's spirit."
"Eh?"
"Come with me." Jun replied, standing up and leaving without looking if Ohno was following him.
They walked in the forest for some minutes before Jun stopped in front of a big and old tree.
"I grew up here. In the forest. I know every part of these hoods and mountains. The problem is you grew up in the town and never learned to know your real self." Jun started.
"My real self?"
"You are a water bender. It means you have a link with the nature and especially with the water. You see, in the forest, everything is alive, even this little acorn." Jun said, putting an acorn in Ohno's hand. "Everything has a soul. The wind, the water, the earth and the animals. As you are a water bender, you have to create a bond between you and the water's spirit."
"The water's spirit?"
"Yes. You're alive, you have a soul?"
"I think so."Ohno nodded.
"It's the same for the nature. The forest, the animals and the water have a soul. This soul's name is 'Spirit' because it gives them the strength to survive. Every spirit is like a God, an alive God. To understand this spirit, you have to understand the nature's language." Jun explained softly.
"And how can I do?"
"Put your hand on the tree and close your eyes." Ohno nodded and shivered when his hand touched the tree. "Now, try to listen its breath, to feel the life inside it. Connect your cells to this tree."
Ohno took a deep breath and tried to concentrate. The older was about to open his eyes when a pulsating crossed his arm.
"Do you feel it?" Jun asked.
"I think so... It's like a heart beating." Ohno exclaimed, his eyes still closed.
"Exactly. Now, try to listen to him." Jun smiled.
"How can I do?"
"Listen to its call, follow its voice as if it was calling you."
Ohno nodded and listened. Suddenly, a whisper resounded in his mind.
Satoshi... Satoshi...
"What do you hear?"
"He is calling my name." Ohno exclaimed.
"What does he want?"
"He... He is crying... He is hurt, he is suffering..." Ohno said in a broken voice.
"You can stop Ohno." Jun whispered.
"No... He... Jun, he is crying, he wants my help, he says his brothers are dying..." Ohno said in a desperate voice, sweat rolling down his temples, his blue tattoo shining brightly.
"Satoshi..."
"I... I feel bad, Jun... I want to help him but... His name is Aki. He... It hurts, Jun, help me!"
"Ohno, open your eyes!!" Jun ordered, shaking Ohno who jumped.
"Jun?" Satoshi whispered weakly before fainting.
Ohno opened his eyes with difficulty, seeing a form on top of him.
"Satoshi!"
"Kazu?" Ohno moaned.
"Are you okay?" Nino asked in a panicked voice.
"Y-es. What happened?"
"You left with Jun and fainted. I knew he was dangerous for you, you won't approach him again!" Nino snapped, hugging Ohno tightly.
"No! He... He didn't do anything, Kazu. He taught me how to talk with the forest's spirit." Ohno protested.
"Sato..."
"I swear he didn't do anything wrong." Ohno said in a pleading voice.
"Alright." Nino sighed and looked at Ohno who was joining the forest to find the younger.
The sleepy prince walked a moment before finding Jun who was talking to the tree, his hands against it and his eyes closed. Ohno stared at him for a while, listening to the song Jun was singing. It was sad, melancholic and so beautiful. Jun's soft voice was resounding in a perfect harmony with the wind.
"Do you feel better?" Jun asked without turning toward Ohno who blinked.
"Yes. What are you doing?"
"I am talking to the forest." Jun explained. If Ohno didn't know him, he would have laughed.
"Can I?" Ohno asked shyly.
"Come on." Jun held out his hand to the prince who took it. "Close your eyes. Feel the wind and the forest's whispers."
"I can hear them." Ohno smiled.
"Okay, now, listen to their pain and follow my voice." Jun stated before starting to sing again. Ohno felt the sadness coming from the nature and followed Jun's voice. Soon, they were singing together in a complete harmony, respect and compassion wrapping the trees. A new sensation invaded Ohno's whole body, as if strength was wining his cells. After a moment, Jun stopped with a smile.
"Do you understand now, what is it to talk the forest's language?"
"Yes. It was...indescribable. As if I was a part of the forest. How long did we sing?"
"Two hours." Jun laughed when he saw Ohno blinking. "It seemed shorter, ne? It proves you were in a perfect harmony with the nature."
"What happened earlier?"
"You talked to Aki, the forest's spirit." Jun explained.
"He seemed so sad, as if he was crying, it was as if I had a big hole in my heart." Ohno whispered, tears filling his eyes.
"You can cry, I felt the same the first time." Jun said, hugging Ohno against his chest. "What you felt was the horrible things the fire's country makes to the forest. They burn everything, destroy all the trees and kill the animals. Aki was crying the loss. If you felt his pain as if it was yours, it means you were in a perfect harmony with him and also means your heart is very pure." Jun whispered, stroking Ohno's hair who was crying against his chest.
"It hurt so much, Jun. I don't want to feel that again."
"I know, Satoshi. But it will make you remember why you are fighting for. Aki trusts you to stop Jin." Jun smiled, cupping Ohno's face in his hands. The young prince nodded with courage, tears still shining in his blue eyes. Jun stroked his wet cheek with his palm and approached his face slowly as if he was scared. Ohno closed his eyes and soon, felt Jun's lips against his. It was tender and rough at the same time when Ohno parted his lips, allowing Jun to slip his tongue in his mouth. The older moaned, wrapping his arms around Jun's neck who pressed their bodies together, one of his hands traveling on the prince's back. Jun broke the kiss, pecking the full pink mouth several times before hugging Ohno tightly.
"Now, you have to face the water's spirit."
"You'll stay with me?" Ohno asked with a shy voice.
"Of course. I would never let you go." Jun kissed him quickly and took his hand to lead him next to the river.
They kneeled in front of the water and Jun put his hand in the river, closing his eyes. A weird sensation invaded Ohno whose blue eyes started to shine brightly. Jun blinked but didn't move, staring at the older. Ohno's tattoo was also shining, the half-moon growing on his forehead. For some hours, Ohno stayed like that, without a word before collapsing on the ground.
"Satoshi!" Jun panicked, lifting the older's body in his arms.
"I'm all right." Ohno smiled weakly.
"How was it?"
"Amazing. I talked to him. To Aku, the water's spirit. He told me how to improve my powers and what my mission was." Ohno explained.
"I see."
"It was different than with Aki. This time, I was the water, I was the river." Jun frowned at these words but didn't say anything.
"You should take some rest, you're exhausted." Jun smiled but Ohno gripped his arm.
"Stay with me."
"Sure?"
"Kiss me." Ohno said, looking straight in Jun's eyes. The younger stroked his cheek before bringing their lips in a deep kiss, laying Ohno on his back.
"Satoshi..." Jun gasped when their members brushed.
"Make love to me." Ohno whispered in a pleading tone.
"I can't..." Jun sighed but the older stroked his length, making Jun moan loudly.
"I want you, Jun!" Ohno replied, taking Jun's hand to put it on his hard member. The younger kissed him roughly, his hands starting to undress the young prince, his mouth devouring the prince's skin. Jun took one of Ohno's nipple in his mouth, making him gasp. Lust was shining in Jun's eyes who was about to strip completely the older but an arrow sank in the grass, stopping Jun who froze, his purple eyes shining dangerously.
"Move away!" Nino yelled.
"It's not what you think, Nino." Jun said.
"I don't care, move back!" The guard screamed angrily.
"Kazu, he didn't do anything wrong!" Ohno exclaimed.
"Come here, Satoshi!" Nino shouted, ignoring Ohno's explanation.
"I'm sorry." Ohno whispered to Jun before standing up, his opened yukata showing his tanned chest.
Nino grabbed his arm and led him toward the camp furiously.
"Kazu..."
"Shut up!" Nino yelled, pushing Ohno on the ground.
"You're scaring me, Kazu." Ohno exclaimed.
"What were you about to do with him? Have you lost your mind?!"
"I..."
"You wanted him to fuck you?! It's not your mission, Ohno! Since when you sleep with strangers, I don't recognize you!" Ohno pushed Nino roughly.
"Do you remember who I am?! How do you dare talking to me like that?! I didn't do anything wrong, if I wanted to sleep with him, I have the right to, you're not my mother, Nino! Jun sees me instead of you!"
"Satoshi..."
"I hate you!!" Ohno cried and ran away.
"Satoshi!!!" Nino yelled but the prince didn't answer.
At the beginning, Nino didn't follow him, too angry to apologize and wondering what Satoshi’s last words meant but after some hours, Nino got scared and started to look for his prince. He had to forget his pride, Satoshi was too important for their mission… Or maybe was just too important for him.
"Jun! Satoshi has disappeared!" Nino screamed when he saw Jun against a tree.
"What?!"
"We fought and he ran away but it's been three hours, I'm worried."
"Idiot! This forest is very dangerous for him, there are lots of samurais!" Jun yelled before running to look for Ohno.
"I'm so sorry, Satoshi, please, come back!" Nino whispered, tears rolling down his cheeks.
