Chapter 11 :

Aiba yawned, entering his apartment before frowning. The host ran toward his bedroom to find Yuki curled in a ball on his bed.

“I’m becoming crazy.” Aiba shook his head with despair. He was sure he had smelt Jun’s amazing perfume at the second he had entered his apartment but it seemed he had dreamt or he was just too focused on his ex-lover. The host collapsed in his bed and frowned again, diving his face in his pillow. “I’m not crazy, it’s his perfume!”

As if he wanted to approve, Yuki barked and shook his fluffy tail, licking Aiba’s cheek. “You also smell like Jun. Why did he come?”

To: Jun
From: Aiba

Hey… I hope you feel better… did you come to my apartment?

The answer came quickly and Aiba frowned, not liking his ex-lover’s words.

To: Aiba
From: Jun

Yes, I had things to take and I wanted to see Yuki. You should pack my things so I’ll be able to pick them up.

“I don’t want you to take them… because it would completely end our story…” Aiba whispered sadly before falling asleep. Since Jun’s start, the young host hadn’t been able to spend one peaceful night. He perfectly knew his acts were in totally contradiction compared to his feelings and to what he really wanted but just imaging Jun breaking down again helped him to hold on and to keep rejecting the love of his life.

****

Sho took the diary on the ground without opening it. Jun had obviously forgot it and even if curiosity was trying to make him open the soft leather objet, his psychologist part stopped him to do so. Since his meeting with the younger, Sho was starting to change and act like he never did before. Jun made him weak. Not in a good way. Maybe it was because of the failure in the latter’s eyes or the sadness in his look anytime his lover talked about Aiba that was getting him attracted to Jun even more as days passed by.

“Tadaima.”

“Okaeri! You’ve forgotten your diary, scatterbrain.” Sho smirked.

“Shit! Have you…”

“I haven’t opened it, baka.” Sho chuckled, holding out the diary to Jun who made it fall. The leather object hit the ground, some pictures flying on the floor. Sho knelt down to take one of them. “Who’s the man next to you?”

“Eh?” Jun looked at it and frowned. “Since when do have I this picture?”

“There is Aiba-san, Nagase-san and… I don’t recognize the man holding your waist as you have covered his face with black felt tip… that’s not very kind… Is he an ex-lover?”

“I… I don’t know… I don’t know who this man is…” Jun stared at the picture with lost eyes.

“You were obviously close as he is holding your waist… Are you sure you don’t know him?”

“Yes…” Jun shivered, looking at the picture. He had forgotten one year of his life and know, couldn’t even recognize someone looking so close to him. There was definitely a problem with him. Sho sat next to him and took his hand.

“Before Aiba and Nagase, did you have a boyfriend?”

“No…”

“And… Are you scared by men? If you don’t think about Aiba and Nagase…”

“Ano… yes… well, not scared but it’s more like mistrust… I don’t like when a man I don’t know tries to touch me…”

“And at school, did you have a boyfriend?”

“Hum… I dated someone some months… Ikuta Toma…”

“I see… so, it’s just a theory but maybe you have partial amnesia…”

“What? Like memory lapses?”

“It’s just a theory but as you forgot some parts of your life… unlike a camera, our brain doesn’t record clear pictures. The episodic memory is linked to emotions, that’s why it has the tendency to rewrite itself like it wants. Even if it means forgetting something or someone. This kind of amnesia happens to protect yourself from an emotional shock like I told you before or when you have a physical trauma. We have to find out what happened to you and who this man is.”

“Thank you.” Jun smiled softly, though, a strange shiver won his body at the idea of finding out the truth.

****

“What do we have?” The man asked to his colleague who was staring at the building.

“A skeleton has been found in an unoccupied apartment.” The inspector answered. “The head is missing and the corpse looks like a mummy.”

“Since when he is dead?” The man followed his colleague to the apartment, disgust painted on his face when they entered the room.

“Dunno. Maybe two or three years.”

“What???!!! And nobody found the corpse before???”

“The person hasn’t been killed here. Someone brought the corpse here for sure.”

“Inspector! Look, what was in his hand!” A policeman held out a picture to the inspector who took it with a frown.

“It’s almost erased. Maybe the dead man was one of the persons on this picture. Ask for an analysis.” Yoshiro gave the picture to his colleague.

“How did we find the corpse?”

“An anonymous call.” Yoshiro replied. “And there is this drawing on the wall.”

“It looks like an apple.” Sonoda commented.

“Hummm….” Yoshiro hummed, lost in his thoughts. What was the meaning of this mess? Why the murderer had placed this corpse in front of the window with this picture in his hand and this drawing? What was he trying to tell them?

****

Jun parked his car and left it, frowning because of the hustle in front of the building.

“Excuse me…” Jun stopped a young man who seemed to be from the police.

“Yes?”

“What’s happening?”

“You are?”

“Ah… I live in the apartment in front of this building…”

“We have found a corpse in one of the apartments. It’s maybe a murder. Have you seen something weird lately?”

“Ano… Not really, I…”

“Inspector Sonoda, Yoshiro-san is looking for you!”

“I’m coming!” The man turned toward Jun and held out his card. “Call me if you remember something unusual.”

“Hum.” Jun gave him his and joined his apartment. “I hope the murderer won’t come here again…” The bartender took a shower and collapsed on his bed with a sigh. Anytime he talked with Sho about his lost memories, it was as if energy left his body. Trying to remember exhausted him like when he spent hours at his sports hall. Closing his eyes, Jun fell asleep quickly, hoping not to make any nightmare again.

Jun looked around him, trying to find his lover in the rooms of the university. It was already late and his boyfriend had promised to meet him after his dance lesson. Had he forget him? Suddenly, a noise made him jump and Jun froze, seeing a man with a black cloak approaching him. A scream left Jun’s throat at the view of the human skull in the man’s hand.
Jun ran away under the man’s evil laugh before screaming when his body fell in a grave.

“Too late.” The man smirked, making Jun cry in fear.

“Noooooo!!!” Jun stood up in a scream, sweat rolling down his face. He was in his bed, his body trembling. “Again this nightmare…” The bartender stood up, holding his aching head and walked toward his bathroom before freezing. On the mirror above the sink was written with black paint Remember. “Who has done that???” Jun checked his apartment but everything was closed. Falling on his knees, the bartender started to cry before gasping, seeing black paint on his hands. “N-o…” His eyes widened in horror. “It’s me who has written that???!!!”

Without thinking anymore, Jun put his shoes and ran toward the only place where he felt safe, ringing with despair. A sleepy Aiba opened the door with a mumble before gasping.

“Jun???”

“I… I had nowhere to go.” Jun started to cry loudly, his body shaking in fear.

“Come in.” Aiba wrapped his waist, making him enter his apartment. The host made him sit, stroking his hair softly. “What happened?”

“I’m… scared… I think I’m going crazy.” Jun sobbed, staring at his dirty shaking hands.

“A nightmare?”

“Yes and no. Masaki… I need to know… Do you know what happened to me three years ago?” Jun stared at his ex-lover intensively but Aiba shook his head.

“Nothing special. I don’t understand why you have forgotten this year. And why does it matter so much? It’s only a year.”

“It does matter! You don’t forget one year of your life just for fun!!! You don’t make frightening nightmares every night!!! I can barely sleep because of this fucking stranger scaring me like hell!!! I won’t handle this situation a long time!!! I’m tired, Masaki… It’s killing me…” Jun cried, tears rolling down his cheeks like a waterfall. “It’s killing me and you are not here for me! You are not here to protect me!!! I’m becoming crazy!!!”

“Jun… baby… don’t say that… you perfectly know I love you and will always protect you from everything…” Aiba cupped his ex-lover’s cheeks, worry painted on his face.

“Then, why? Why are you acting like that? Rejecting me, loving me… Why do I have these nightmares, this panic anytime a stranger approaches me…? Why?” Jun sobbed.

“I don’t know… But I’m here for you… like a friend… you deserve someone better than me… you’ll find the person made for you…”

“And it won’t affect you this day?” Jun raised his crying face.

“It will kill me, of course. Because you are the love of my life, Jun Matsumoto.” Aiba whispered, staring at the younger right in the eyes. Jun cried louder, sticking their lips in a sudden kiss with despair. Aiba struggled but quickly gave up when his ex-lover climbed on his lap while devouring his mouth with loud moans, Masaki’s hands wrapping his waist.

“Make love to me, Masaki.” Jun whispered between their lips, undulating his hips. Aiba didn’t even realize when both ended naked, the younger attacking him and literally eating his mouth with a deep distress, tears still rolling down his cheeks. Feeling the pain of his ex-boyfriend was like being stabbed by someone right in the heart. Aiba had never bear when Jun suffered or cried when they together and seeing him in this state today made him realize with horror that his ex-lover was really on the edge and was going to break down soon if he didn’t do anything.
Jun’s moan made him come back to reality and Aiba bit his neck while entering him slowly, his body shaking in pleasure. Being inside his lover had always made him feel as if he was in paradise, all his cells, all his sensations increasing, his heart beating so fast that he was sure it would one day explode. After all these months without making love to him, Jun was tighter than ever, forcing him to control his moving hips not to thrust too fast and to make him come in some seconds like a teenager. Aiba linked their fingers while Jun was wrapping his waist with his legs, allowing him to go further, his member finally hitting this so magical hidden spot that always made Jun gasp in pleasure.

“You’re so beautiful, Jun.” Aiba whispered, kissing his lover’s sensitive neck and moving harder while keeping a slow rhythm to let them enjoy this moment as long as possible. Jun moaned and cupped his cheeks, managing to answer between some kisses.

“I l-ove you…”

They kept making love for a long time, going for another round when both came, the despair and the need to form one again despite the tiredness wining their sweating bodies. And even if the two lovers loved to do it from behind, Aiba kept staying above Jun, enjoying the picture of his beloved blushed face. The younger’s fingers lost their way in the host’s hair, his body arching on the sofa with each thrust Aiba gave.

“Ma-sa… need to come…”

Exhausted, Aiba complied and moved faster, keeping their bodies as close as possible as if he wanted them to form one. With a last thrust, the host made them come, Jun gasping silently, his body freezing as if electricity was crossing it.
The older kept laying soft kisses on Jun’s face, wishing to stay like that forever. A sad smile spread the bartender’s lips, his fingers pushing away some sweating locks of hair that covered the older’s face.

“Jun…”

“It was wonderful… like always…” Jun cut him off, kissing him softly.

“Stay… Please…” Aiba dived his face in the younger’s neck, his voice shaking because of the fear to lose Jun again like before whenever they made love.

“Hum…” Jun hummed sleepily. His lover pulled out softly before bringing him to their old bedroom, hugging him tightly against him not prevent him to go. Soon, a soft snore won the room and Aiba finally started to cry, tightening his grip around the younger as if he was scared to lose him.

“I love you so much, Jun…”

****

Aiba opened his eyes painfully with a yawn, smelling a nice fragrance in the bedroom. He was alone in his bed and stood up quickly to join the kitchen, a smile spreading his lips at the view of his lover cooking their breakfast and wearing only one of his shirts. The host walked toward him silently and wrapped him from behind, his lips automatically finding the younger’s neck to kiss it with love.

“Good morning.”

“Hey…” Jun smiled, not stopping his preparation before laughing softly when something hard pocked his naked leg. “Already horny? After all the rounds we had?”

“You perfectly know that seeing you like that always get me hard.” Aiba grinned, entering his lover slowly and making him gasp.

“Masaki… I’m… cooking…”

“Keep cooking, then. I’m taking care of you for the two of us.” Aiba sucked his lover’s white neck, his hips changing of rhythm to thrust deeper, making them both gasp. The spoon in Jun’s hand fell, the bartender gripping the counter or whatever he could reach to not fall under all the pleasure wining him. Aiba had this gift to make him see stars with only some thrust.

“Masa-ki…” Jun’s head fell back on Aiba’s shoulder, offering him his neck as his parted lips let loud gasps leave his throat. “So good…” Aiba wrapped his waist to thrust harder, trying to control his moans, his body shaking in pleasure, sweat rolling down his skin. He had always loved to make love to Jun like that and knew they wouldn’t last long when his hips decided to move faster, taking the younger harder and deeper in a hurry before they both came in loud moans. “Take… a sit…” Jun managed to say between his gasps. Aiba growled, wanting more, as if all these rounds weren’t enough to satisfy his desire for the younger but the host obeyed and sat, still a bit lost in his orgasm. Jun smirked and put the plate on the table before riding his lover, his member already half harder. “Itadakimasu.” The host brought the spoon full of scrambled eggs to Aiba’s mouth, making him growl. It was delicious, like always when Jun cooked but feeling his lover’s naked butt on him had gotten him hard like hell in a record.

“Want… you…”

Jun chuckled and put the spoon on the table before raising his hips to impale himself on Aiba’s hard member. The host almost cried in pleasure, remembering how much he loved when Jun rode him when they were together. He loved to have his boyfriend taking the lead in this way, Jun knowing perfectly how to drive him crazy and how to make him beg for more. His hands wrapped the younger’s small of his back to make him move deeper but despite Jun’s wonderful moves and beautiful red face, it wasn’t enough for Aiba who, with his hand, made everything on the table fall before almost throwing Jun on it to thrust wildly inside him.

“Masaki!!!” Jun screamed in pleasure, getting a satisfied moan of Aiba. That’s it. What Aiba wanted. His lover wasn’t someone who liked to be loud when they had sex and it asked Masaki a lot of skill to find the perfect move that would make his lover lose control of himself. Wanting to hear more, Aiba kept thrusting like that, making Jun scream loudly until they reached their peak with happiness. “I should hit you, you know that.” Jun muttered, out of breath.

“I love when you lose control and start to scream. It excites me even more.”

“Well, I can feel that as you always come a lot more inside me when I do.” Jun sighed.

“I also love to claim you, baby.” Aiba pecked his lips with a proud smile.

“I’ll always belong to you, you know it.” Jun stared at him intensively. “We should take a shower, I have to leave in 30 minutes…”

“Hum…” Aiba nodded, not knowing how to act. Usually, whenever they had sex, it ended badly with screams and cries before Jun swore to disappear of his life and him apologizing and saying they couldn’t be together. But today, it was different. Because Aiba was also on the edge of breaking down and couldn’t find the strength to push his ex-lover away once more. Lost in his thoughts, Aiba joined Jun who was crying silently under the shower, letting him wrap him in his arms. “I’m so sorry…” Aiba kissed his favorite wet lips for some minutes, breaking the kiss only to breathe and when Jun pushed him away softly to leave the shower. The host sighed when he heard the door some minutes later, the sign his ex-lover had left. “What are going to do?”

*****

Yoshiro lit his cigarette, sitting at his desk and frowning when his eyes fell on an envelope wearing his name. Opening it, the inspector discovered a piece of paper with a drawing on it.

“What is it?”

Under the drawing was written an address that Yoshiro wrote on his laptop.

“Strange… a music academy? And if it had a link with the mummy we found?”

“Inspector?” Yoshiro closed his laptop quickly, raising his head to see his young colleague staring at him.

“Hello… Do you have some news?”

“No… There is only this young man that intrigues me…”

“Who?”

“He is a young bartender who looks like one of the men on the picture. We need the complete analysis of the picture to be sure.”

****

“Tadaima.” Jun sighed, entering his empty apartment. The night at the club had been long and hard. He had barely talked to Aiba who was watching over him instead of taking care of his clients. The bartender felt like a teenager whose mum was stalking to be sure nothing bad happened to him, almost growling at any man who would approach him. In a way, it pleased him to see his ex-lover’s concern but it also hurt him because Aiba always pushed him away and wasn’t even able to follow his own demands. After their night full of pleasure and love, Jun had decided to leave not to force the older to throw him out of his apartment again. Being the one leaving by himself was less painful than being rejected. For his biggest surprise, Nino was also here, working as if nothing happened but anytime Jun tried to broach Ohno’s subject, the young host changed the conversation and acted as if nothing happened. Jun swore to himself to help his friend if he kept having this strange behavior. But for the moment, his only preoccupation was to discover who was the man next to him on the picture that had been taken in front of his dance academy. Why didn’t he even remember he had this picture that dated back to when he was studying in Sakura academy?

“Could it be…” Jun walked toward his bookcase and took a big book before opening it. A smile spread his lips in front of the pictures of him and his friends having fun, some of them showing Aiba dancing with Takeru, a common friend. “Eh?” Jun froze, seeing other pictures of him with a man whose face was covered of black felt tip. Tones of pictures of him with the guy fell on the ground, the person’s face always hidden by the pen. “We look so close yet, your face is erased… Why? Tell me who you are.” Jun sobbed. He needed to know. To understand what happened during his studies and who was this man who looked like his boyfriend. His ringtone made him jump and taking it, Jun inhaled a bit before answering. “Moshi moshi?”

“Jun, it’s me…”

“Hello, Sho. It’s late you know…”

“Sorry to call at this hour, I knew you would be awake as your shift just ended. I wanted to talk about something important.”

“Hum?”

“About the picture you showed me. You have to remember who this person is and for that, you can ask to the two other persons on this picture.”

“Nagase and Aiba?”

“Yes. Ask them who this man is.”

“Ah yes, I forgot I could question them.”

“But be careful, don’t trust them too easily, they might lie to you and say they know nothing or tell you something fake. To protect you.”

“Okay, I’ll ask Nagase first… Goodnight, Sho…”

“Goodnight.” Jun hung up with a sigh before going to bed. If only Nagase and Aiba told him honestly who was this man and why he didn’t remember him…

****

The next day, Jun joined Nagase in a restaurant, ready to face the older and analyze his expression to detect any lie that would paint it.

“You look exhausted…” Nagase stroked his cheek with worry.

“I don’t sleep well…” Jun sighed, siting and ordering their lunch. “I’m trying to remember and it increases my nightmares.”

“Why don’t you give up, then?”

“Because like I told Aiba, I need to know what happened during this year. And also…” Jun pushed the picture toward Nagase who paled. “Who’s this man?”

“Is it you who has daubed it?”

“I don’t know.”

“What? It’s yours, no?”

“Yes, but I don’t remember this picture nor this person.”

“Sorry but I don’t remember this man too. It’s been a while since we took it at your academy…”

“Please, Tomo! I need to know! Tell me who he is!!!” Jun cried before wiping his tears. “Sorry, I need some air.” The bartender stood up and left the restaurant under Nagase’s calls.

“Jun!”

“I have to go.” Jun replied. There was something weird. First, Nagase’s reaction at the view of the picture and then, his voice when he had said he didn’t remember who this man was. Something might happened before to make him refuse talking about this guy.

“It’s about time you forget Haruki.” Nagase whispered, making Jun freeze.

Haruki… was it the man’s name???

“Moshi moshi?”

“Sho? Sorry to disturb you but I have the man’s name… Well, I guess it’s the guy’s name as Nagase mentioned it when he thought I wasn’t hearing him.”

“Okay, that’s a big step. Let’s meet tomorrow at your old dance academy to check the archives and find out who he was.”

“Perfect. See you tomorrow, then.” Jun hung up and stared at the rainy sky. Whatever he was going to discover, he was sure the truth would be painful. “I have to be strong.” Jun whispered with determined eyes.
