In Pokemon X I was just on a 50 chain of Skiddo when my chain broke for no apparent reason. I literally encountered a 50th Skiddo and after the battle, the music changed back to normal, and grass did not shake

Chains can randomly break, which sucks. You either accidentally stepped in the wrong patch or just ran into the random chain breaking factor. It's not that common, but it can occasionally happen, which sucks.

I'm confused because I'll sometimes get a strange music change, but no shining grass. I have no idea what this means, orz
