Choir of the Year today - sat through the whole day - 14 choirs auditioning from SA. I think there's a strong chance AUCS will get through to the next round :-) even though I can't sing in it because I'm doing it with another choir :-( but the other choir, Lumina, I think will probably get through as well ( Read more... )

AUCS sang in the Barr Smith Library (at Adelaide Uni) last night. Even though it was a cold wet night, and we'd done very little promotion, and it was only an "open rehearsal" (rather than a concert) we had a small but enthusiastic audience. I finally worked out the significance of "Atlantic South" . According to American atlases, the Southern Ocean doesn't exist. They refer to the ocean between Australia and Antarctica as part of the Atlantic. So, for the benefit of visiting Americans, some here now also refer to it as "Atlantic South ( Read more... )

First day of my new job today. Yippee! They seem very glad to have me - ladies who had got my IT account all organised, had my access pass all laid out ready, there was even stationery in my desk drawer waiting for me.
