Paterson Joseph: Not Doctor Who 11.
Alas, Paterson Joseph will not be the new Doctor. I was really rather excited there for a while - I loved Joseph as the Marquis de Carabas in Neverwhere, and I think he really could make an interesting Doctor (while at the same time, you know, giving us a Doctor who's not a white man.)
But no, they've chosen someone else. The eleventh Doctor, and youngest ever (not really sure I'm happy about that...) will be relative unknown Matt Smith. Moffat said that Smith apparently blew them away with his performance, so there's still a possibility that he'll do well - Moffat has, so far, been relatively brilliant in his performances. But meh... on first reaction, I'm not happy, although that's likely disappointment over Paterson Joseph.
Now if only they'd pick Sally Sparrow and her boyfriend as the next companions...
