what the frak / NOT CANON!

Anyone else see the end of Caprica? Quite good-the show managed to redeem itself in the final few episodes it had remaining, in my opinion. There were still some flaws in the writing, and one or two WTF moments for me.

Well, the death of "Willy" certainly explains that little problem. Guess I was right about the timeline after all. :-) But it still felt more than a little cheap to me. Here we are as the audience, getting to think that we're seeing young Cmdr/Adm Adama, but noooooooo. (There was an amusing reference in one of the other final episodes about an attending physician named Cottle. Definitely our guy's father-he's old on BSG, but not that old.)

The biggest flaw seemed to me the sudden reconciliation between Daniel and Amanda. Their subsequent reconciliation with Zoe was more convincing, and ultimately much more important, so I'm willing to overlook it, but seriously.

Evil Methos FTW. Even if he was, ultimately, for the lose. Speaking of which... what the hell was up with Cyrus' pointless Sacrifice of Self-Sacrificialness? Why didn't he just leave with the Graystones??? Seriously. It's an example of the kind of minor flaw that dogged the show throughout, and really in my opinion hindered its achieving the kind of solid emotional anchoring that BSG had.

I found myself really liking Lacey's arc. And the fact that Odin did not, in fact, get pwned like a n00b in the scene where they end up killing the instructors. The STO did seem kind of nonsensical though. Why don't they have guards on the battle robots, frex?
