Temporal Distortion Field

Well, that didn’t go quite as planned, did it?

Hello viewers, and welcome to this, the first art update in far too many months. Numerous things have been a-happening of since last we met, but unfortunately almost none of them are at all the sort of thing you’ll want to read about here, so that’s that sketch knackered then.

Oh well.

These apes have, of course, made a previous appearance in the CL Bonus Room, but they didn’t have names at that point, so I can now reveal that the gorilla is called Clarence and the chimp is called Bobo. I can’t reveal much more than that right now, as they remain part of an in-development thing that’s still very much in development (both their designs have changed somewhat since these early illos were doodled), although members of the CL Mailing List should have a better idea of what’s planned for them by now. (Ta muchly to the mighty Chris Zawadzki for handling the technicalities of this thing.)

Relatedly, non mailing-listers may like to know that the main Crazy Lizard site has finally been updated - and among the new bits and pieces is, at last, that picture I was on about last time featuring Bowser, Blag, Pimple and Donkey Kong having a bit of a barney. You can get to it directly by clicking here. Quickly now.

Before I leave you, something else has caught my attention that may appeal to those of you with a slightly warped sense of humour. Remember what I was saying last time about the arcade version of Battletoads being fantastically great, thereby bucking the trend of ludicrous hopelessness set by all the console versions? Well, there’s an interesting article here that should go some way to explaining just what made it so special...

(Note for the easily offended: the article in question forms part of an extensive and - surprisingly - highly amusing feature by the splendid fellows at i-Mockery, about videogames containing moments of...er...a somewhat bawdy nature. So you’d probably best skip this one.)
