Cool man, very cool. I wish I had done that!!! When the Violent Femmes came to Sydney, abut 18 months ago, I went to them 3 times in the same tour!!!
And my sister have tickets to REM next month!!! (99 would have been the "Up" tour right? Love that album!) I have never seen them live but i really love their music, and the new CD!! I have their live DVD (love it) but whats it like being there?
REM is a great live band. Their set lists are always energetic, even when playing their slower songs. Though it can be an odd show, especially if you're a "dancer." Many of the songs are "sit-down" songs, which was fine since at the one show I had pretty poor seats, but during the faster songs I wanted to get up and dance, but it was a bit awkward.
I've managed to save all but two or three of my concert stubs. I keep them in a scrap book. And it was quite easy to track missing information (dates, cities, opening acts, etc.) on the web. The only one I'm having trouble with is also my first concert ever: Violent Femmes in Newark, DE back in '92, or it may have been late '91. I can't find any record of this anywhere on the net. But I know it was then because it was during the one year I attended the University of Delaware.
