I don't have a problem with this game being sold at all. It's a game, nothing more... well maybe a little more, but seriously. Compare this to the "Grand theft Auto" series. I am not for non-religious murder like in that game, but I still think the game is fine. Just like I am against religious murder like in this game, so I still think the game is fine.
My problem would arise if Walmart(who is currently selling this game), would keep this game on the shelf, but ban a game where "muslims/jews/athiests/agnositcs/etc." would convert or kill others. Because once that sort of favouritism sensorship pops up bullshit strikes. If that makes sense.
So in conclusion. Keep up the good work religious psychopaths.
We should most definitely have freedom of speech, and with that comes freedom to offend. I do find this game offensive, but not so much for the content itself, but moreso due to the fact that the producers are being very hypocritical. If Muslims came out with a game like this the religious right would simply flip out. Yet seemingly it is ok to advocate religious intolerance as long as it is being intolerant towards religions other than Christianity.
And that isn't fair.
And that is extremely hypocritical.
As for a game where freethinkers would convert and kill others - it would never happen. There is no doctrine of atheism or agnosticism and so there would be no such game. Freethinkers are underrepresented on death row.
Wal-Mart is also selling the game only in the 200 stores where it is selling well - I would guess that is in the bible belt.
What surpirses me about it is that accoreding to the Chonicial Journal (not creditable), some Christian groups are ok with this kind of violent video game but not others such as grand theft auto that have nothing to do with relegion. I think it's hypocritical- like it's ok to kill as long as its in the name of your god... the phrase "thow shalt not kill comes to mind." This is a problem all over the world. I don't want to get into it.
Actualy, there's even a Christian DnD game... ah! the Arabs are attacking!
Yeah, religion is a a big topic for a lot of people - for better or for worse. I will say that I am definitely in favour of freedom of religion, but I just want it kept out of government. Also, scientists should be the only ones making decisions based on scientific data (stem cells), not members of congress or other laymen.
Just leave the science to the scientists. If 95% of Geologists say global warming isn't being affected by human beings - they are probably right. They are the ones who spent years or even decades studying the subject - not George Bush or some other person. That's not to say take everything at face value. Thinking critically is very important. But to have something published in a peer reviewed journal is incredibly challenging. And if one scientist says something that is BS - believe me, 40 other scientists would immediately be ripping him apart.
If religion and science happen to clash - science should win by default.
i had a bit of a gigglefit when i saw this on futureshop shelves...and id like to play. looks hilarious. 'game' a fitting name.
also borderline is pretty hilarious, and it reminds me of organized religion and the christian god. quick to anger but extreme need for community, impulsive destructive behaviours and some mood sliding eg/mania of activity and then flattening of affect.
At least five of the following are necessary for a diagnosis (as with many DSM diagnoses, they must form a pervasive pattern; for example, a person who shows these criteria only in one or two relationships or situations would not properly be diagnosed with NPD

Would Wal-Mart sell this book if it sold well?
