In some odd way, congratulations.

I know it sucks. However, getting laid off was the best thing that happened to me. I had found the career I wanted, getting laid off gave me the funds (severance) and the time to take a certificate course to get me where I needed to be.

Sounds like you're approaching it with the right attitude. You really can turn this around into something better. I am available if you need a kick in the butt, plus my editorial services.

I actually may take you up on that at some point. My resume is ok, but having another set of eyes look it over and make a few recommendations would be awesome.

Let's see how successful I can be on my own first (damn the pride!!!), but if I start hitting road blocks, I'm calling in the cavalry (that's you!).

I agree that you are definitely looking at this the right way. Still I hope it doesn't get too stressful. I'm sure you and the lady will pull through just fine. We're around if you ever want to get together and do dinner and talk/chat/relax whatever. :)
