However, it is not your duty to uphold the law, regardless of your personal opinions. Judges say that, but they are wrong.
John Jay, the first supreme Justice of the U.S. said this: The jury has the right to judge both the law as well as the fact in controversy.
It's called jury nullification, and it means that if you don't agree with the law, you can vote to acquit.
