nate, a copywriter friend with sadly no copy to write, turned me on to google image labeler. it's a way of creating/improving tags for google image search by turning it into a game. you and a mystery partner both label/describe/tag a picture until you both use the same word or phrase, then you get points and go on to the next picture. it's a neat

watch this: it's the story of the google image labeler, and will turn you on to lots of other similar "doing work while playing a game" games. it's kind of long, but completely fascinating.

plus, if you go to library school, you WILL have to watch it. may as well get it out of the way now.

ps. it doesn't actually tell the whole story, i don't think, because this was before google bought it. it was called...something i can't remember, but you'll know it when you hear about it.
