Hello, everyone! I think I was supposed to have starting writing in this for Muggle Studies awhile ago, but I completely forgot I had one. I guess it's a really good thing that Mum had me clean up my room on Friday so I could finally start packing up for school and I found this under my bed! Well, I guess it was under my bed, some dirty socks I ( Read more... )

The educational benefit of these still remains as of yet undiscovered. I am beginning to doubt its existance.

I've learnt a lot about what everyone seems to think of everyone else of the other gender, but does that really have much to do with Muggles? It seems sort of mean too.

It is only mean if you let it affect you. Similarly the offended do not appear told hold the writers of the lists in high regard, so I do not know why they would bother with irritation.

Oh, all right. I don't really understand where all those numbers are coming from anyway and I don't see how it started in the first place, but I guess that makes sense. And I thought Ravenclaws are supposed to know everything? You're a Ravenclaw, right? I can't remember. What's your name again?

Hi, Mattie! The names show up, so you don't have to worry about learning what everyone's handwriting looks like. Hookum won't use her journal much after a while - last year she barely surfaced in like, the last six months or so.

I just got the cupcakes from you and your Mum this morning, tell her thanks from me and my brothers, yeah? I might be dropping by later for a quick drink, forgot some potions ingredients!

Oh, hello there, Karin! And that's great, since I can't even remember what my own handwriting looks like sometimes. That's so odd that she wouldn't look if this is an assignment, but I guess she just must be really busy, right? She's really important when it comes to Muggle things, isn't she? I'm sure she mentioned it in class before, but I can't remember anymore.

You're welcome! We had a lot of fun making those, actually, although Peter kept eating the sweets and Mum had to duplicate what we had left so there'd be enough to go around. I'll definitely let Mum know you said thanks though! She was a little worried that she may have done something wrong, since she was in a bit of a rush. And right, see you later then, possibly!

Hey!.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hookum didn't know as much about Muggles as we're supposed to believe

She seems to randomly skip over certain entires.

Hello, Albus! Or Al, since I can't remember what you'd rather go by anymore. Which one do you like better again? Or should I go with Potter? Completely up to you, of course.

Oh, all right. I wonder if she'll ever read one of mine? Just in case Mum tells Dad to tell Professor Hookum that she's got to keep an eye on me this year so I stay out of trouble, you know? What happened to your ink up there? Did you spill it? Do you have to buy more ink? Scribbulus Ever-changing Inks is still open right now, I'm sure! I'll have to ask Mum.

Either is fine. Al is probably mor And I think you're already aware that I can't handle also being addressed by my middle name.

Hand slipped. I'm good on ink. How was your summer?

All right, I'll go with 'Albus' then because I'd probably mix up 'Al' with 'Ed' since they're both so short. I'll probably keep switching as I forget and remember though, if you don't mind. I don't even remember what your middle-name is anymore so I don't think you have to worry about that.

That seems to be happening a lot right now! My summer was all right. Like I told Amity, I can't really remember most of it, but I know the Scamanders came by to tell us about their travels and Dad shared his and I forgot about my birthday earlier this month, but Mum remembered and I suppose we had a party, but it must have been a very quiet one because I don't really remember much of that either. How was yours? I'm sure it was much more interesting.

You don't have to write it every time. We know who you are. I'm so glad I'm not in Herbology anymore.

Oh, all right. And hello there, Amity! How are you? And how's Uncle Zacharias? Mum still worries a lot about him and she was hoping he made it back all right from Uncle Justin's after the speech last week. And did you spill your ink too? You should try to make another visit to Diagon Alley to get more before we have to go to school tomorrow.

I'm all right. I'm looking forward to going back to school because at least then I'll have something to do. And I don't know how he is. We don't speak to each other.

That's good! You didn't do anything all summer? You should have told us, as I'm sure Mum and Dad would have had ideas, and the Scamanders even visited the Leaky Cauldron and Aunt Luna told us all these interesting stories although I don't think all of them are quite right. Where was I again? I don't get what's so bad about Uncle Zacharias, I mean, I know he ran away a the battle and everything, but -- Oh right, do you know which NEWTs you'll be taking yet? Aside from Muggle Studies, I mean. That's mandatory still, right? Well, I guess it is if I'm writing in this journal right now, but what does this have to do with Muggles?

Mattie! How are you?

You know, I almost suspect Hookum only assigns us these journals so she can find out what's going on in our social lives. It's better than a soap opera, certainly.

Hello! And oh, I definitely remember you, Polina! How has your summer been?

Really? I guess everyone does write some rather interesting things sometimes. Do you think she might be telling my dad about the sort of things people talk about? Not that I'd really write anything Dad wouldn't like anyway, I think.

My summer has been hectic. I went to visit my half-sister in America, and went to Spain with my mother, but mostly I've just been revising and doing my summer homework. I enjoyed it, but I'm thrilled about school starting again. How has your summer been?

I don't think she'd tell anybody about it, unless something really terrible or illegal happened. I doubt she even reads all of it, but you never know. I've asked before, but she's very vague about the whole thing.

Oh, that's an awful lot of travelling! That reminds me of the Scamanders, actually, they travel a lot looking for Snore-snacks or whatever they're called and they came by the Leaky Cauldron a few times to tell us all their stories. And I don't really remember what I did this summer, so I guess it must've been rather boring and I didn't write anything until now because I didn't remember I had this until today, but you already knew that.

Has anyone ever written about something terribly or illegal in these before, like last year? I wonder who'd do things like that!
