You are so kind to stop by to visit my LJ Cottage!

I try to keep my LJ a space for mutual respect and peace. I am a believer in the Creator/Redeemer revealed in Biblical scripture. However, I have several non-Christian LJ friends who share other interests. I filter most Bible-related entries out of respect for those who would not wish to read ( Read more... )

I'm sorry; your message/comment came right before a big three-day conference I had volunteered to help with, and when I arose from that experience breathing again, I thought I had already attended to your request. Now I see that I didn't at all. I'm so sorry. Yes, of course you may add me as a friend. It's sweet of you to ask. :-) I have just added you to my friends list, and also to my Christian Friends filtered group.

This is such a great list! Thank you for taking the time to make it. I've bookmarked it for the next time i'm cleaning house.

I always like to listen and clean. :)

You are the first person to enjoy my 40's music list and let me know about it! I'm so glad someone else could enjoy it, too.

Yes, having fun music while cleaning really helps. This video doesn't make it to the embedded video list (because it prohibits embedding), but in it Doris Day demonstrates my dream of how housecleaning-and-singing should work together. :-)

I always liked hearing the chorus when I was a girl (an oldie, but I heard it occasionally)--so catchy--but never really caught the words and their meaning. Those really are nice!

The song also brings to mind a T.V. show I once saw (ages ago--I don't typically watch television now) of a man pretending to be an Italian-American, who got in a tight spot with some Italian-American ruffians. He was supposed to be able to speak Italian to them, but didn't know any--or so he thought. He looked the leader eye to eye and convincingly challenged him with the only Italian he could think of at the moment: "Volare!" Somehow, the word was effective in causing the leader to take him seriously and back off. The pretender only later found out that he had told the ruffian to "Fly away!"
