Yeah that's why they say to always keep your eyes on the road. You can lose focus or veer off the road just by looking at your radio and tuning to another station. I've done that loads of times. It's pretty crazy to think how far you move in one second. For example, traveling just at 30 mph, you're traveling 44 feet in one second. That's a lot. Anyways, glad you're okay.

darn! i always knew they must've said "keep your eyes on the road" for a good reason. heh.. sorry. the cop asked me if i was on my phone or messing with my radio but i could truthfully say i wasn't. i just looked off in space for a second and not in front of me. anyway, thanks.

Ah, that's terrifying. My first accident (well, the only one that was my fault) was just like that.

Is your car totalled, or do you not know yet? Mine ended up totalled because the airbags cost so much to put back. I don't remember if your car is newer than mine or not though.

hmm i thought it looked totalled when i saw it but my step mom said "no, that's not totalled." but both air bags did come out so i dunno... maybe it's close. this car was a 2001 maxima. i'm hoping they can fix it and get it back to me before school starts. that might be wishful thinking.

You might be safe in a 2001. When I wrecked my car, it was 7ish years old and only worth like $3000 anymore. The airbags alone were $2,500 to fix, and with all the damage I did to the front end...

Tell me though, do you have a steering wheel cover? I had a furry one at the time, and it ignited when the airbags went off. Just briefly, but holy scare the crap out of me.

wow. no, no steering wheel cover. but the airbags were definitely smoking like crazy. well i know some thing(s) was/were smoking. at least it wasn't me.
