I'm glad you're enjoying it more this time around! They really are great movies. Watching it again last night brought back a lot of good memories and emotions from high school when those movies were coming out. And yeah, the blu-ray looks amaaaaaazing.

I read the books and I think it might have been nicer to see the movies first. While I understood that some of the changes from the book were necessary, I was occasionally frustrated by changes that I thought didn't need to be made.

I am very interested to hear your take on it from the perspective of someone who hasn't read the books.

Great to see you too! Glad I'm not the only one who wasn't completely enamored with the LOTR movies upon their initial release. Breaking them up into more digestible chunks has worked so far for me.
