I sent this email around the office yesterday afternoon:
The three people known as Eirik, Matt and Josh
Have been rather busy, and accomplished a lot.
We've recently made some upgrades,
but there's no need to be dismayed.
Calm yourselves - do not be alarmed;
No customer-facing service was harmed.
First the webservers were a group of four
Then we added a couple more.
At that point, not much else had changed
But it did simplify the stuff that was yet to be arranged.
In the past weeks - slightly more than a fortnight
The project well underway no longer feels like a plight
Two pairs of two (that's four, of course)
Were added to our webserver resource
The total is now an impressive ten
For a while, we don't expect to upgrade again.
Using all the effort we could muster,
The platform now operates about 10x faster.
We call our webs front or back
If this is too technical - alack!
Fronts serve images, javascript and CSS
The backs are left to serve the rest.
About the forth-coming 5.0 release:
The dev team say "Within one week toil will cease.
"We'll roll out on Tuesday - or aroud then.
At least, that's the plan"
If you have questions to ask, or something to say
Drop us an email, or pop over our way!
P.S.
Sorry I've not updated much. I'm back to my normal self - working hard, playing hard, burning the candle at both ends.
