Having literally shed tears, lost sleep, nurtured splitting headaches, and fought anger and despair over this election, I've made my decision

I'm glad you were able to come a decision--I know it's been really hard for you. So I'm happy you're sticking to your guns and doing what you feel is right. *hug*
Now the only question is, what are you going to do with the time you would have spent waiting in line to vote? Firefly? FF9? Pump money into the economy by buying a Nintendo DS? I totally think you're allowed at LEAST two hours tomorrow to celebrate your decision. :D
Well, I'm still going to vote. There are about 4 local candidates and a referendum that I'll cast votes for. But other than that...hmm...I don't know. The Nintendo DS requires money I don't have. Firefly is done (Serenity kicked serious ass. Especially that scene when River cuts loose...literally...with a katana and an axe). FF9 is a possibility. I'm also at the beginning of the journey to the center of the moon in FF2 (or FF4, depending on your reckoning), so that needs to be finished sometime.
I think I'll just come home, repeatedly click "Refresh" on the BBC and Fark to watch the landslide (as it appears it will be), and go to bed early. I'm SO much fun lately.
Hope your decision was easier on you. Are you planning on voting?
Six hours? Gross. Yes, I'm planning to vote and just taking Dad's opinion to heart and focusing on a leader rather than singular issues...but I still feel conflicted too so it's not like a walk in the park for me either. Guh.
Also, my "I'll punch you in the face if you don't vote" status on Facebook naturally does not apply to you. ;) You have valid reasons, I'm talking about the people who are lazy.
Get some sleep, I'm off to shake my iMac like a baby per Jordan's recommendation. O_o;
I hear you. I was pretty torn, myself. I almost didn't want to vote. In the end, I decided to weigh things using a temporal weighting system. Which things were likely to be important issues within the next 2 years? Which strengths are needed in the president in the next 1-4 years? Which things are not likely to be decided soon.
I can't say that I'm happy with my choice. But I know that I wouldn't have been happier to have chosen the other one, either. Alas. Too much hypocrisy in politics.
