FNL oddly did not make me cry last night. Of course, my friends were talking the whole time.

But it did make me squee gratuitously.

I didn't really cry last night. Not much. But I did love love love it. It was so satisfying. And I wanted them to win, but I also wanted. . .so much other stuff.

I really agree with your thoughts on the Ryan/Seth relationship.
I completely agree with this "Ryan was always a little bit trapped by his own tendency toward silence and by his uncertainty about anything that didn't involve his body or his moral code."
I had kinda thought about that before, but never really put it into words if you know what I mean, but I think you put it perfectly.
Anyways, I enjoyed reading your thoughts on that article!

Thanks! That's how I like thinking of Ryan, anyway--as someone who is largely uncertain and even a little awkward, but who has this easy physical confidence/presence that makes up for a lot.

I watched the premier...and a few eps in replays on weekends...and the other night I was able to watch the season's finale. I can't say I know all the characters or understand the dynamics very well....but last night? Was wonderful. I teared up as well (though I'm getting a little tired of this whole trend on TV of starting all over again with babies when the kids are mostly grown...)

I do hope they get picked up as I now want to see where they go with the plot. And yes...I think I understand the RigginsLovin now!

It's really just a wonderful show. So subtle and honest and nuanced. It's possibly the truest show I've ever seen.

With you utterly on the Ryan/Seth (and on the Taylor is the female Seth, not Anna.

And as for FNL - tears, darling, tears.

God that show better be renewed...

But you know they got a Peabody, right?

Sometimes when you comment now I hear your voice in my head and see you typing and I LOVE THAT.

The thing I like about that article is that it's all canon stuff, but it reminds me why it was fun to slash Ryan and Seth, and how good they sometimes were for each other.

I do know that! And I really do think it'll be renewed. It is truly amazing.

I don't so much cry at FNL as get this rush of love and identification. I want to call out, "That's me, me, me!" when I see it. I don't just feel that way about Coach and Mrs. Coach but all of the characters - oh, FNL!

I tend to tear up at the tiny triumphs and moments of love and mutuality. But YES. It's amazing how the show can be both so real and so graceful.
