Dr. said Zoloft

Nov 13, 2007 12:44

Waiting for call from office saying he's called in the meds. Seeing a counselor on Nov. 26th, my mother-in-law will be here to watch the girls, thank God. But meds will start sooner, as per my OB.

So glad you've taken steps to help yourself this way. Part of the issue with depression is lacking the motivation to do anything about it, so give yourself some kudos! While you're at it give yourself some *hugs* from those of us who can't give them to you ourselves!

I started taking Zoloft, a small dosage, in January of '06, not for depression, but for a fairly violent case of APD. Therapy in combination with meds and stress-reduction techniques totally saved my life. I have faith that this can help you, too.

Hang in there, cookie. Help is on the way!

Zoloft is a great place to start. I hope it works for you! Remember to give it a few months to really see the true results.

i was on zoloft all through law school - primarily for anxiety, but the antidepressant effects were good, too. it had far fewer side effects for me than effexor, which i was on for a short period of time earlier this year. effexor took care of the depression, but left me totally "flat" - i didn't care about anything, good or bad.

*hugs* what kartoffel said; it takes awhile to reach a therapeutic level in your system. so give it time to work.
