Craigslit is a tool, nothing more, and like a tool can be used effectively, or inappropriately, well or badly.

Whay are you thingking of using it for?

I was an EARLY user of CL and have high opinions of it and Craig, though it has obviously become a different thing with growth and wealth, it still is pretty fine.

So, whatcha wanna do and how can I help?

I've gotten a couple of jobs from ads on Craig's List, I'm currently working with one of them: so far so good. I also know people who have bought and sold stuff via CL and, as far as I know, everything worked out just fine; money was paid, goods were delivered, everybody was happy. I occasionally have too much time on my hands and peruse the "adult" ads for a goof and just to see what's out there... to this date I haven't gone blind from any of it.
In my experience, Craig's List is OK.
However, I would certainly employ all reasonable caution when interacting in any way with previously unknown persons contacted from anywhere on the internet, and CL is no exception to that.

yeah, the cautions were a kind of "disclaimer" on my part... just in case, eh?

What is it you're thinking about doing on CL?
