I will not be around for a while. Seems my new comp is dead, IE: got an email from a good friend and when I opened it, it activated a MAJOR worm/trojan/virus thingie and infected the whole system so that my minibook is now toast and i need to save up mucho cash to have it wiped and redone. *cusses angrily* It was, as best as I can figure something

OK, sweetie, it is time for you to give up on Windows once and for all.

We can find a way to have someone install Ubuntu on your machine, somehow. Really, if you can get a disk, you can do it yourself, and while it will take a wee bit to adjust to the slightly different interface, you won't have these disasters anymore.

Also, Ubuntu is free. Open Office, the comprehensive office program that runs on everything, is free. Both products are far safer and more stable than ANYTHING from Microsoft.

If you want, I will arrange for someone in the US to send you an install disk.

Is it open file source, like Microsoft stuff is? I am soooo scared of all that stuff now that I nearly tossed the minibook anyway, just to keep from going through this again. I took the stuff that Micrososft sent me, loaded it up and the whole thing seems to be just fine now, but who knows what will happen later, know what I mean? Even though I have the new d/l from them I am still not too sure about whether it will protect me come some other mess. *sigh*
