The trainer is sort of a portable electronics lab.

You plug it into an outlet, and then you can use all the knobs and such to set the outputs of various tie-blocks (where you can stick then end of a wire in... little holes with contact points) to wherever you want them. Then, it also has a pair of what are called breadboards... like the tie-blocks, only bigger, with lots of short rows of holes that are connected all lined up.

The use of the trainer is so that you can built test circuits to see how they work or to do experiments on them (what happens if I change this?) without having to build a circuit board for each lab experiment or having to tape or solder wire to the components to create the circuit.

I know that probably doesn't give you a real clear picture of it, but I'll be bringing it home, so you can see it and maybe even play with it a bit.

Extra practice is good - it reinforces the knowledge and improves your skills.

I'm glad you are doing so well in your class and that the teacher is willing to work with you this way.
