And the pun is, uh, sort of lame. 'Witch' in russian is ведьма [ved'ma], the etymology of the word is basically an archaic verison of 'to know' and the word 'mother', which is no long jump to 'woman'. Plus I tried to play around with 'no' and 'know' (and between my friends & I, we like to purposefully screw up that spelling) but I sort of gave up.
Were there witch-hunts in Russia? Yeah, there were laws against witchcraft, but as far as I'm aware the 'hunts' didn't reach Europe/Catholic world levels. I read something about domestic laws, how a husband could punish a wife is suspected of witchcraft, but couldn't divorce her, or some such. I don't have indepth information, and I'm sure there must have been regional / temporary spikes in witch-persecution activity, but it was not a Thing.
A few of the people I follow are themselves music nuts, sometimes for specific genres. For instance, my latest haul was from plenilune and her (one)(two) music tags, mostly of folky and gothic persuasion. Then I do follow a couple bandom blogs and a few people who predominantly post music, OneWeekOneBand, and whatever just shows up on my dash randomly. However, I also recently followed jehandsome who regularly goes through the fanmix tag and from whom I now reblog most mixtape/playlist things, which saves me going into the tag myself.
But then I also often re-discover some song or two in my own music library and go exploring in the artist's discography, and associated acts and such.

Do you draw most of your music recs on tumblr by following specific aggregators, or more roam around in your search for lovely things?
