I wonder about that too. I'm almost 25 and I don't think I'll come close to finishing my doctorate before I hit 30. Don't we usually do our best work before 30?
I'm much less computationally skilled than I once was; I've gone from impressive feats of computation to struggling with simple arithmetic. I don't value the computation, but if I can struggle so much with simple execution, how will I possibly absorb concepts or create new ones? I no longer have the context to perform the busy-work; I need to expose myself to more elegance, more beauty.
