Homer, Homer, You Bastard, I'm Through

My Hum 110 copy of The Illiad arrived in the mail yesterday.  I just finished Book 1 of it.  I've drawn the following conclusion about Hum 110:

I'm boned.

I mean, I like books and I can write coherently.  A required literature/humanities course should be no problem, right?  Wrong.  So wrong.  16 pages in and, as far as I can tell, it's still in Greek

I could never get through the Illiad. I'd see a film, then read it.

The Illiad is fantastic. The whole trogan war is so much better in the book than in any movie. Achilles' rage is sooo good. The gods intervening in peoples lives frequently is where its at!

Aphrodite snatching Paris away from battle, as an example.
