I completely agree about Collateral. And majority of critics and people I know loved it.I found it boring, trashy and unsatisfying- a throwback to dodgy 80s/90s "action/thrillers".I knew you'd have the right sense about this one!
I just didn't get into it at all and was quite bored by the end. Hotel Rwanda and Killing Fields both worht seeing though and I saw Downfall last night (the one about the last days of the war in Hitler's Bunker) - very impressed.
I'm very impressed that you're getting back into your movie-watching again- a welcome return! I haven't had a chance to get out to the cinemas for months but my preview tapes are keeping me in good stead with the new releases (Interpreter,Robots,A touch of pink).'A touch of pink' was part of the Mardi gras film festival which we were gonna go to,its the one with the guy who sees Cary Grant's ghost. We actually have a copy of it in our store-good old conservative St.Ives steps into a new age.Altho the film itself is cliched but quite a sweet gay comedy.
Have actually watched a few more, but not reviewed them yet. My new store is a bit limited, but am going to investigate more in soho. They also have a cinema that shows old classics as well so I may even be able to see some of them on the big screen.
