Hey Liz! I agree wholeheartedly with you about the whole food thing... I was shockingly unimpressed with French cuisine overall, although I'm sure if you were to go to the gourmet restaurants there'd be some amazing food - but it'd cost you at least 50 euros haha. I'm happy you're getting settled, but I hear ya about how it's hard to make french friends. I seriously didn't make one. That's partially because I went to an international university where pretty much everyone was American, so it made it that much harder.

My advice: start planning little weekend trips NOW! Every weekend you don't go somewhere different and exciting is another opportunity wasted. Even if you go by yourself, it's truly liberating. You'd be surprised how much fun you can have alone, just be safe.

It sucks that you guys don't have a metro. Lame.
