I come a'visiting and upon signing in, the screen goes dark and I get an ad... before I can even access my content?.
Awesome! not.
The year has been eventful, Facebook helped with that, as I got re-connected to my family and friends in daily basis and found long lost friends (and and ex or two, haha!).

Greetings from LJ land! My condolences on losing your grandmother, even though I know that she went peacefully and it was about her time to go. But losing anyone dear to you is hard, no matter how much you see it coming. *hugs*

After ages away, here I am. And very sorry to hear about your grandmother. I'm not a very religious person, but I like to believe our dear ones go to a better place and that their taking care of us in some way. So probably your granny is there, looking at you and guiding you, even you're not aware of it ;)
As for facebook, I'm not there because I simply don't like it. Too public and too accesible for my taste. I like more a place like LJ, were I can keep a lower profile and be kind of shadowy :)
