Last night I told Becky that I couldn't do this again next year - I feel like I give her a lot of ultimatums - Told her I wouldn't work another prom season like last year earlier this year.
This morning I decided that I wanted her to go to bat for us with the company - the company tries to tell us that we can't do alterations outside of the business. I want to be able to put a business card out. I will sign whatever they want me to sign saying I won't alter DB stuff at home. That way I can supplement my income.
I don't really WANT that much more work, but I need to be able to balance.
Is there any way you could appeal to the higher ups by using that sort of logic on them? Because I agree, it seems unnecessarily punitive to a team of high performing employees to cut hours. Explain that they're doing more harm to their profits that way? Uhg, I don't understand how people can make decisions like that. *hugs hugs*
I'm sorry sweetie, this economy is pissing me off, seriously. Your company is going about it all wrong reducing your hours when you're pulling in business! I hope she's able to go to bat for you. Good vibes, I'll be thinking of you. Me & Patrick's job is closing in February ugh.
