anaheim winning the Cup would be like {insert something crappy here}.

go Ottawa! Plus, if Ottawa won, it would be doubly canadian, because it's the capital.

note: the fact that you were a boy growing up in canada and played "hockey" by batting bouncy balls against the rec room wall with a tiny Philadelphia Oilers stick, and the fact that I was two years younger and got all your handmedown clothes, meant that for about five years, all I got were handmedown sweatpants with patches on the knees. This led to social ostracization, the kind that shapes a young artistic temperament. way to go.

On the other hand, if Anaheim won, the Finnish guy who's been driving me to and from work this week would be thrilled. (Hockey is Finland's #1 sport.)

-- And it was a little disingenuous of you to ask if Raleigh's ever seen snow, as if you'd never lived through a Di Phi snowball fight in the next county over... :)

I was under the impression that the Canadians and Yanks watched Hockey for fights too. I thought taking of your gloves and decking someone was part of the spirit of the game. Though my old friend Nick loves telling stories of out someone would take off his gloves and masks to fight, and he'd leave his on and whip them soundly.
But really.. its like rooting for one of the new teams to win the ACC, you've gotta go with the old timers.
