JERRY: And I'll tell ya, I'm really enjoying this marriage thing. You think about each other. You care about each other. It's wonderful! Plus, I love saying "my wife." Once I started saying it, I couldn't stop - "my wife" this, "my wife" that...it's an amazing way to begin a sentence.

KRAMER: "My wife has an inner ear infection."

T-minus five days until you get to say that. hopefully, you won't have to say that. shoot, I keep forgetting to put that mp3 of the wedding song online somwhere for you to find and listen to. It's almost too late to say "hey, I hate this oboe crap you came up with", but still, you can put it on your myspace or some CRAP.

Brad and I were looking through some things Brad wrote about our wedding (last weekend was our 5 year anniversary, if you can believe it!) and he wrote that when he saw a card among our presents addressed to "Mr. and Mrs. (insert our last name here)" he thought it was for his parents. He had mentally rehearsed calling me his "wife", but had not internalized that my name would now be his!

The first time I had to refer to M. as "my husband" was in a candy shop in Quebec City. I was trying to order some candy for him, because he had wandered off and was looking at the ice cream freezer. I got very flustered, because not only did I have to refer to him as my husband, which was new to me, I also had to do so in my nonexistent french.
