Nah, I used to play basketball myself and I'm quite athletic. In fact, it takes a lot of athleticism to play golf well. I'd like you see you hit a 300+ yard drive using a club with a face about the size of the palm of your hand hitting a ball with an inch diameter. I guess I could explain more reasons why golf is an athletic sport, but that'd take too much time and might be above your comprehension level.

Yes, golf is a sport. It requires a physical (unlike marching band) to participate in.
