Folks, thanks for your encouraging words, I´m trying my best to cope and you´re probably laughing off your heads at the wee bat being completely led by the nose by a three-month whelp :p ( Read more... )

Talk about going potty...

Hahaha! Oh dear oh dear. I have no advice to offer, except perhaps asking someone more knowledgeable for advice. I'm sure there are whole online communities for lab owners!

Eeeek. Good luck with your little Viking!

Och aye, I did ask in an excellent dog forum where most owners keep Retrievers, and they all said to a man: "Oh that´s normal, and that´s nothing, you should see the things a Flat Coated Retriever puppy or a Chesapeake Bay Retriever pup can do - Labs are angels in comparison!"

Well, my uncle (a golden owner) told me once, "You have to correct a wayward Chesapeake with smack, a Labrador with a word, a golden with a look."

Might cook him poppyseed noodles and see how he reacts...
Instead of laudanum, maybe you should cook some extra poppy seed noodles for yourself too? It might take the pain away and will be soft enough to chew.

I am glad to hear that the infection is gone because then the healing can really start and your pain will disappear.

I am sure Wotan looks no end cute (and probably behaved while his breeder was around),but I hope that once he has thoroughly explored and familiarized himself with the house and countryside he will calm down because I can so see you worrying yourself to death what he will do next if he and Gran are on their own. He is very much in need of training and from the sounds of it, he should go to a proper school.

If you find a few minutes daily on the pc, may I point you towards the many photos of my England trip which may offer some (possibly welcome)distraction for you.
thank goodness he waited two days for me to callWhat a difference a boss can make! This one sounds a gem. He must know what he has in you. :D ( ... )
