So now some US Republicans are ticked off that Google logos ignore US-only holidays like Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and a long list of Rah Rah Yankee days. They´re especially irritated that the 50th anniversary of the launching of the spacecraft Sputnik merited a special logo for the folks of Google and their own self-glorification days didn´t (uh ( Read more... )

Those republicans should get into a flame war with a non-american online or something. I have fallen into the trap of assuming everyone i talk to online is american if i don't already know better, but that's just ridiculous.

Dude, if they did those US-only days, you'd never see a regular Google logo 'cause there'd be all the other holidays that are exclusive to whatever country in which they originated. Although frankly that might be sort of interesting.
