Pics: my choir´s six-monthly weekend in Zwettl Gothic monastery

Concert went fabulously; the live recording should prove even better than last year´s :)
And the wee bat got herself a singing teacher, la de da. No pressure, just see how far we can go!

Now the pics: the abbey at our arrival, gloriously autumn-y,

God that place looks absolutely gorgeous and to spend a weekend there. It would be absolutely glorious.

Though for that to occur I would have to revisit my childhood choir days at the Methodist church where I think the particular choir mistress like the Worcesters confused loudness with quality, in regards to singing. *g*

Ace linguist(just like Maturin *veg*) and a recording star too, a trace of Jack there, not at all a Stephen trait. *g* Unless you sing like a strangled crow. Stephen's voice was never considered beautiful. *g*

Yis, Austria´s chock-full of such "hidden" places at every turn; Zwettl´s special for our choir but to be fair it can´t compare to the most breathtaking places, like Melk Abbey; but the most lovely feature of Zwettl is invisible (the atmosphere of peace and restfulness, no matter how sad or stressed you feel, as soon as you arrive there it´s as if it all things negative fall away from you and you can breathe again :D)

A strangled crow, LOLOL!! (is that canon, too? then I guess Maturin´s a baritone, just like Jack´s a true-ear deep bass? Alas I´m just a coloratura, so make it a strangled mouse *g*) And with all due respect, I strive to emulate *Jack* as a model in all things, thankeee very much!! *bristles ;)*

But Jack is hardly a linguist. *g*

Have you any pics of Melk Abbey? I should not be lazy and check it on google.

Neither am I, tee hee - ask esteven I just grok enough autre merde not to step into any :p and talk enough putain so that drivers everywhere can´t mistake my opinions of their wheel skills for an attempt to flirt *g*

About Melk, there you are! The pics don´t convey its sheer monumental size, though. And it´s got one of the most gorgeous (and best endowed, manuscript-wise) libraries in all Central Europe. Wish we´d sing there one day...

You have discovered a way to stretch a day to 26 hours? Work, study, teaching Wotan, taking care of Gran, having to take the train and now singing teacher...
^_^

I do know a certain banyan, don't I. It suits you well and my friend will be delighted to hear that you make good use of it.

Aye aye, "Sleep less, exercise more" :p Woti cuts my night short something awful, anyway, so these days I´m up at five whether I like or not and I´ve started using that "extra" time to do the cooking and grooming, and a bit of practise (and I´ll try slide the teacher every second week on godson-visiting evening, otherwise it´ll be tricky... as I´m her first student ever she´s also asking for a symbolical fee which suits us both fine for the time being!)

I love this banyan so very much, and it goes with practically everything (brown, olive, mustard, russet, beige) - and several people borrowed it to have a pic of them taken in it. It´s so warm, light and comfortable, and it feels as I´ve had it forever *hugs* It´s so funny because in Vienna lots of tourists think I´m one of the ticket-selling Mozarts and also want pics of it *gg* I have to take a pic of the black frock and vest, too, they´re also fantastic, though more dressed-up and formal :D

Isn't Wotan supposed to be slightly more grown up nowadays? I hope he is not a completely lost cause when it comes to education. *sigh* Have fun with your teacher...

I am glad the banyan suits you so well, indeed I would be looking forward to a photo in which you look more formal. I am not surprised some tourists mistake you for a ticket seller. What with the banyan, black trousers and your lovely long hair....

The snow, did it stay or had it vanished by the time you left?

Hmmm yes, and he´s supposed to destroy less, eat less, bark less, jump less... o.O Although he did come back from a few days at his breeder´s a little bit more tame than he went in - sigh, indeed... she says it´s my fault because I´m not firm handed enough and the dog senses I won´t say boo to a goose so he knows he can walk all over me (so what´s new? He´s just behaving like any other full-fledged member of my family :p ( ... )

...and lots of forest clearings there to beam yourself down, sing "Row Your Boat", and find a peak or two to climb ;)

Next time you´re *not* going to Portugal and you feel like touring the "wild" Austrian countryside we can go there and to several other similar places, Dasha :D
