I think you did a great job on this piece Maxie. You're making it hard for me to find anything to correct.Couldn't you make a few errors on purpose so I would have something to talk about. Ah yes, I found it.Lichtschlauch bei uns gilt als " string of lights" Im meistenfaelle kann man "wie" als "like" uebersetzen aber nicht "like a fridge" sondern "as a fridge".
Es fehlt schon nits, john

And both have to do with those darned prepositions. Ich sollte mich schaemen aber ja trotzdem es freut mich mal zu wissen das ich nicht allein bin als ich mit nur, zwar,eben, schon, doch und so weiter ankaempfen.
So let's confront those tricky but( I'm coming to believe very important) devils:
"As the "Spiegel" reports further, there has been even already a threat..." I would say: "As the "Spiegel" further reports, there has already been a threat..."

" I must confess, by now I am not yet in the mood for Christmas." I would say: " I must confess, I am still not in the mood for Christmas" or " I must confess I'm not yet in the mood for Christmas."
