Going Crazy
Delicious hot chocolate and aromatic raspberry tea. These were the two things that they desperately needed at that moment. That and something to warm their frozen feet with. It wasn't hard to grant their second wish - they found lots of socks and blankets so they could easily warm up every single toe. There was a problem with their other needs, though.. They couldn’t find a single drop of milk, nor a single bag of tea, let alone aromatic raspberry tea, and they were so wrapped in blankets and socks that it was impossible to move a lot. That’s why they did the only thing they could think of doing..
“KYUHYUN!?”
The maknae looked up from his laptop and sent his hyungs an annoyed look. "I am in the middle of winning my most epic game in my life! I never had a chance to destroy my enemy in such a short time! What the hell do you want?" Two pairs of cute puppy eyes and two adorable pouts greeted him as his eyes met his hyungs’. He could do nothing but fall for the cuteness they were spreading.
“Gosh, Teukie hyung, you’re supposed to be old.” he muttered, pressing the pause button as he got up from his chair. That's how Kyuhyun was forced to leave his beloved laptop aside for a moment, put his jacket on and visit the nearby grocery shop to buy Jungsoo and Hyukjae the things that they needed. The two young men cheered out of joy and started to bounce on the couch, singing 'cho-cho-choco-choco-chocooolate and teaaa~!’
They were interrupted by Yesung, who walked into the living room upon hearing the noise and eyed them with a scowl. After staring at them for five long minutes, making them turn completely silent and expectantly stare back, he finally opened his mouth. "Hush a little, you're disturbing Ddangkoma's winter sleep."
"I thought Ddangkoma finished sleeping a week ago?" Jungsoo asked quietly. "No! I was wrong, he just took a break in his sleep because he had to pee! Now he's sleeping again." Yesung explained but after he did that, he blinked a couple of times and started to think about something. "That's weird, shouldn't a winter sleep be uninterrupted? Hm... Whatever."
The two young men watched how Yesung walked back into his room again. They eyed the closed door in wonder for a few moments, before turning to each other and shrugging.
“Yesung.” they said at the same time, as if that explained everything.
"Random as always" Hyukjae added and Jungsoo simply nodded. "I'm bored. I want my hot chocolate. I still feel cold. I dreamt of a freaking scary clown today. I miss my sister. And I complain just like an ajumma now. Teukie, help me, I think I'm getting depressed.” The elder looked at him in surprise for a few moments, before reaching out a hand to pat him on the head.
“It’s okay, Hyukkie, sometimes those things just happen. I’m sure you’ll feel better after you got your hot chocolate, ne? You’re probably just very tired because of the tight schedule. Don’t worry, you’re not going to be depressed. You still have us, right?” he then comforted the other.
“Thank you, hyung. You always know how to cheer me up. You are such a good leader and friend." After this words Hyukjae leaned towards his friend to give him a hug. In exactly that moment the front door got slammed open and Kyuhyun showed up, carrying a plastic bag in his hands.
"I ran like crazy just to make it fast! Aish, you two, am I your slave or what?" he started to grumble and when he saw the two men hugging, he pulled a face and shouted: "Eek! I'm gone for a few minutes and you're already making out!" He dropped the bag on the living room table, ran to his computer and disappeared into his room with it before either Hyukjae or Jungsoo had time to react. When the door slammed shut behind him, they stared at it in shock. Moments later it was opened again, though, and Sungmin came running out of the room.
“You guys are making out!?” he shrieked.
"This evil maknae!" the leader sighed and shook his head quickly. "Don't listen to him. He's telling nonsense."
"Too bad. I was actually quite happy for you two, I wanted to congratulate you. You really didn't make out? You would be such a cute couple..." Sungmin smiled towards them dreamily and they stared at him with widened eyes.
“Hyung!” Hyukjae finally managed to say, still shocked because of Sungmin’s words. The latter blinked and focused his gaze on the two of them again. He shrugged and sighed.
“I guess Eunhae is still real, huh?” he mumbled, before setting off to the kitchen.
"Wait, hyung! Take the bag that's left on the table and make us some chocolate and tea! ...please?" Hyukjae begged and he started to look at his friend with puppy eyes, just like he did it before, when he wanted to convince Kyuhyun. Jungsoo joined him and they did their aegyo until Sungmin finally gave up.
"Ok. I will make it. But just because I still think that EunHae's overrated."
The two young men cheered and jumped up again to start singing the 'cho-cho-choco-choco-chocooolate and teaaa~!’ song. Sungmin gave them a surprised look, before shaking his head and really walking into the kitchen with the bag. Seconds later, he walked out again.
“Hyung! If Eunteuk isn’t real, then what about Kangteuk?” he exclaimed. Jungsoo blankly stared at him for a while, not believing that what he was hearing was real.
“Bwoh?” Hyukjae mumbled.
"I mean, come on. Let's face the truth, Jungsoo is too pretty to be with a girl, he needs someone with testosterone by his side.” Sungmin shouted and disappeared in the kitchen again. The two men in the living room looked at each other and were simply speechless. After a while, the elder said:
"I think he hangs out with our fangirls too much.”
“He’s speaking the truth, though, hyung..” Hyukjae replied, poking a finger in Jungsoo’s dimpled cheek. “You’re so pretty, every girl you get together with will be jealous of your perfect face. Just like, Heechul hyung, he has the same problem.”
Jungsoo stared at his dongsaeng in shock. Had everyone in the eleventh dorm gotten influenced by Yesung and gone crazy?
Speaking of which... Jongwoon showed up once again and stepped into the living room, sighing loudly. He stood there with crossed arms and didn't say a word. Hyukjae and the leader eyed him carefully, waiting for something to happen. And something did indeed happen but it was nothing connected with him - suddenly Sungmin burst out of the kitchen, screaming. When he saw Yesung, he ran right into his arms and buried his face into his shirt.
"Help me!" he yelled.
Yesung gave him one long, thoughtful look before nodding, as if Sungmin’s yell had been a question more than an exclamation. The Eunteuk brothers just stared, not knowing what exactly was happening to them on the very strange and tiring evening.
“What’s wrong, Minnie?” Yesung asked, patting his younger friend on the back to comfort him.
“I was heating up the milk and the water for Hyukjae and Jungsoo’s drinks when suddenly the rice cooker started making weird noises! The kitchen is haunted!” Sungmin whined into Yesung’s shirt.
They both went into the kitchen, Sungmin following his hyung scared.
"OH MY GOD IT STINKS SO TERRIBLY HERE!" the men on the couch heard Yesung's shout. "Did you kill anyone here, Min?!"
"Oh no! The milk!!!" Sungmin squeaked and Hyukjae with Jungsoo started bouncing nervously on their seat. They needed their chocolate and tea so madly and now it would end up like this?!
"Sungmin! It's your fault, so heat up some new milk! Hurry!" both screamed loudly, which made Ryeowook come in out of a sudden.
“Yah! Yah!” he called out, before stopping dead in his tracks. His eyes grew wide when he realised how disrespectful he was being and he immediately bowed so deep his head almost hit the ground. “Mianhe, hyungs.” he then said to Jungsoo and Hyukjae, passing by them to walk into the kitchen. “Sungmin hyung! What did you do to my precious cooking pots?” the two young men heard him cry out in fear.
Moments later, Yesung walked out of the kitchen again, fleeing to his room like he had seen a ghost. "You better run, run, run, run, run~" he was singing in a kinda creepy way, before he shut the door close. Hyukjae and Jungsoo looked at each other and shrugged, once again saying:
"Yesung."
Meanwhile in the kitchen, the two boys managed to save the cooking pot from being completely ruined by the overcooking milk. Ryeowook also revealed the mystery of the rice cooker by taking out the readied rice he had put in a while earlier to prepare next morning’s breakfast already. They quickly put a new cup of milk in the microwave for Hyukjae and poured Jungsoo a glass of hot water, adding a tea bag already so that the tea could drain a bit of its flavour already. The milk was ready in no time and they poured in the chocolate as fast as they could, stirring the whole thing to finish it.
Sungmin then put the two drinks on a plate and carried it into the living room, putting it in front of his hyung and dongsaeng on the little table.
“Here you go, you two.” he said, smiling a little. “Enjoy it okay? And sit a little closer. Eunhae really is overrated. You two are so much cuter together.”
"He's a pervert! Just a pervert!" Jungsoo shouted suddenly, jumping up from his seat. That was really unexpected since they've been sitting on that couch for such a long time. Everyone stared at him surprised as he stepped away and mumbled annoyed:
"I'm going crazy here! Kyuhun only thinks about his games, Yesung is a freak, Sungmin likes Super Junior couples, Hyukjae is depressed and Ryeowook..." he stopped at this moment and took a deep breath, "...you are just fine."
Ryeowook eyed his hyung in surprise and put an arm around his shoulders, in hopes of calming him down. He stroked Jungsoo’s upper arm in a calming way and shooed Sungmin away when the guy wanted to make another suggestion about possibly making a whole new Leewook or Ryeoteuk couple.
“Come, hyung, drink your tea. It’s been a very tiring day, you are very tensed.” he said, pushing Jungsoo back down on the couch and sitting down next to him. “Look how Hyukkie hyung is enjoying his hot chocolate. You enjoy your tea, ne?” He just kept on mumbling irrelevant stuff to Jungsoo to keep him calm. The eldest finally picked up his cup of tea and took a sip, eyeing Sungmin in distrust.
"Just keep that devil away from me" he mumbled and sighed deeply. "Go and enjoy your KyuMin!" he told Sungmin, full of irony, thinking that that could be a nice idea to shock the younger for once. But to his great surprise, Sungmin brightened up suddenly and clapped his hands, screaming cheerfully:
"That's a nice idea!"
Jungsoo looked with widened eyes how the boy jumped towards his room and disappeared behind the door now. He decided it would be best not to ask and just drink his tea. Once he finished his cup, he would get the hell away from that dorm. Ryeowook got up again when he noticed Jungsoo was drinking his tea and walked into the kitchen. Hyukjae made use of that opportunity to shove a little closer to his friend and leader.
“Teukie hyung, are you okay?” he asked. “Is something bothering you as well? You know you can tell us, right? You seem a little tense.”
"You still remember how you told me that you're getting depressed before? Well, I think that me, too. I'm old, Hyukkie. I feel so out of energy. In a few days I will look like a grandpa and no girl will want me anymore.." Jungsoo opened up and let all his worries flow out of him. Hyukjae listened to him peacefully and just nodded, full of understanding.
"You're not old, what are you saying! You're the oldest out of us all but not OLD. You're just tired." he calmed his hyung down and once again gave him a comforting hug. Of course, the timing was perfect as usual...
Ryeowook came out of the kitchen and seeing his hyungs in a state like this, he jumped up and shouted: "You guys are making out!?" after which he put his hands on his mouth and started to scold himself in his thoughts for shouting faster than thinking. That was the end of it for Jungsoo.
“That’s it! I’m out of here! I’m going to people who actually are sane in their minds!” he yelled, jumping up from the couch. When he thought of the members of his own dorm, he couldn’t help but correct himself. “Well, except for Heechul, that is.” He picked up his cup of tea and stalked out of the dorm, walking up the stairs to his own dorm.
He was out of breath when he finally reached it and he burst in like a storm. He wanted to run into his room to fall on his bed and not leave it for the rest of the day but when he passed the living room, he noticed some people in there. Stepping closer to it, he saw a romantic scenery right in front of him - there were candles, wine glasses and a huge amount of food on the table. Heechul and Hangeng were sitting at it, giggling about something quietly.
His eyes grew wide as he took in the scene and he pointed an accusing finger at them.
“NOT YOU TWO AS WELL!” he yelled, turning around and storming to his room before anyone had the time to react. The door was thrown closed behind him and a loud click could be heard as he locked himself in there.
A baffled Heechul and Hangeng were left behind in the living room. They stared at the door for a while, before turning to each other.
“What did he mean?” Hangeng asked.
“No idea. We weren't even laughing with him.” the other replied, putting away the embarrassing picture of Hyukjae in a skirt. "Well, guess we'll have to finish all this food by ourselves after all."
