There's something incredibly sweet and sad about this story (and I mean that as a compliment). As you mention in the beginning there's this innocence about childhood but also this wonderful curiosity. Everything seems possible. So it's not so much a naive innocence as a wondrous one.

I like that Sylar intends the visit as one thing and it turns into something else. As brief as it is it still manages to be very significant. And despite steadfast intentions, he can't follow through. He likes Mohinder and I like that kind of off hand mention that toddler Mohinder lacks the banter that Sylar engages in with older Mohinder. I also like that he sees in this child Mohinder the way the weight of a things he cannot understand from his father are already pushing down on him...and that Sylar responds to that.
