More on baldrics

I could be wrong about the kind of "baldric" I want being associated with drum majors and color guards. I must have missed the original post, but what is this theoretical baldric for, and what does it look like?

See my previous entry. It's two crossed "sashes" which I put in quotes because it's more structured than a sash, attached to a matching belt in some kind of quasi-military style. I'm just trying to find out what such a thing would even be called before I can see if one can be purchased somewhere. I'd got an image of drum majors/color guards wearing such a thing in my head (I don't think it's an actual military thing, not in the US anyway) but I seem to be wrong about that.
