Random musing of the day

It's funny - since my name is so rare, it totally catches me off-guard everytime I hear it and it's NOT being said by someone directly addressing me. It makes me wonder what it'd be like to have a name like Amanda or Sarah that you hear all the time. I wonder if it makes you feel like your name is less your own ( Read more... )

I know what you mean about the name thing, I never hear mine.

If you think that song is cool, wait till you hear this - there's a song on John Legend's new album entitled Maxine. I even uploaded it for you! And then a couple of tracks later there's Maxine's Interlude. How's that for your name in a song?

Woah, that was weeeeird hearing my name over and over and over again. So hmmm...I guess I was cheating on John Legend? That's pretty mean of me.

Speaking of you having a rare name, I was walking around somewhere a few weeks ago (downtown I think?) and I heard someone call your name, so I looked around assuming it was you. But...wait for it, wait for it...IT WASN'T!!! There's some 20-something-year-old girl out there with long light brown/dirty blond hair with your name. I think you know what you need to do.

Yeah, I think about that too...but I'm slowly getting used to hearing mine used more often because of the hurricane. It's still incredibly weird, and I do wonder what it would be like to be a Sarah.

Really? I hear the name Katrina quite a lot. But definitely not as much as Sarah or Jennifer or Ashley or Jessica or something like that.

I don't like it when other people have my name.

I can answer that for you: generally, when I'm in public, if I hear my name I assume it's -not- me being addressed. Cause about 80% of the time, it isn't. ^^
