Don't you love it when people pay you an unexpected compliment? I was in the bathroom today at work and out of the blue the woman at the sink next to me (who I've seen before but whose name I don't know and who I've never talked to) says, "You had the greatest dress at the holiday party! It was so pretty and festive. I loved it." That really caught

Aww, that's awesome! I love it when people are randomly nice- though I think it says something about how rare it is that I'm always really suprised by it. ^^

It's amazing what will restore my faith in humanity (if only temporarily). A few weeks ago I was standing in line at the grocery store and the woman in line behind me randomly gave me a coupon for one of the things I was buying. It was such a small gesture, but I was convinced there was hope for mankind after all.

When I first moved here, I was sick for, like, three months straight, and one day I forgot to bring medicine to work and was coughing really badly all day. On the way home, I was waiting for my train at the station, and this random Japanese woman came up to me and gave me cough drops. It was so unexpected and nice.
