Previous Chapter When Yoochun was four years old, his family shifted from one place to anotherand Yoochun was positive he would hate the new house; he knew he would hatewith a burning passion. But things didn’t turn the way Yoochun thought it would, the new house was bigger, better and it had an extra playroom, there was a park right opposite his house and there were many kids his age to play with. But he instantly hit it off with his immediate neighbor; Jung Yunho. There was never a time when these two were not together, if Yoochun wasn’t at his house, he was at Yunho’s and if Yunho wasn’t at the park, he was at Yoochun’s. They were inseparable and always protective of each other and they were always, always a little in love with each other.
So it didn’t surprise Yunho much when he found himself walking into Yoochun’s home at the dead of the night and crawling under his blanket and wrapping himself around Yoochun.
Yoochun sighed and made space for the taller man and patted his arm; “What happened?”
“I am scared.” Yunho mumbled into Yoochun’s shoulder.
“You’re not five.”
“You’re still my best friend.”
“Yunho, what’s wrong?” Yoochun asked, flipping around and facing Yunho.
“What am I doing, Yoochun?”
“Disturbing my beauty sleep.” Yoochun chuckled and Yunho frowned. “Okay, okay I am sorry let’s talk at 1:30 AM, yes, let’s talk.”
“Yoochun… “
“I am joking…no, really talk to me.”
Yunho sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose; “Am I doing the right thing? I mean, I’m getting married in about a month, is that right? What am I doing Yoochun?”
“Do you think you are doing the right thing?” Yoochun asked, intently studying Yunho’s face. “Is this what you always wanted?”
Yunho turned to look at Yoochun, even in the dark Yoochun’s eyes shone like the stars and there was the answer right there in Yoochun’s eyes, right there and all Yunho had to do was reach out and grab it. Grab the answer and embrace it.
“Taeyeon is a nice girl.” Yunho smiled.
“I am sure she is….”
“I can’t do that to her, Yoochun. I can’t”
“But you can do this to yourself?”
Yunho chuckled and pressed his lips to Yoochun’s forehead; “I love you, you know that right?”
“Yes, yes I do.” Yoochun laughed softly and hugged Yunho. “Just be sure of what you’re doing, okay?”
“I will….” Yunho smiled. “…and I love you too, Changmin.”
Changmin snorted from the other side of the bed and snored a bit more.
-
It was yet another bright, sunshine filled morning and a day closer to Taeyeon’s and Yunho’s wedding. And Yunho felt like he had constipation.
“I am going bridal shopping with mom later on today and then we have to make an order for the cake - Yunho, are you listening?”
“Huh? What? Oh yeah, bridal gown and then cake, yeah I got you.”
“Hey…are you feeling okay?” Taeyeon asked, slipping her fingers in between Yunho’s and moving closer to him.
“I am fine, why?”
“I don’t know, you just seem so lost and kind of zoned out…I was just asking.”
“It’s nothing like that…” Yunho smiled, squeezing Taeyeon’s hand.
“Yunho…”
“Hmmm…”
“You are happy aren’t you?” she asked, softly and Yunho stared at her, at her clear eyes, at her pale skin, at her long flowing hair and her thin red lips. He leaned it and kissed her, but it was her brother in his head.
“Ahem…”
They shot back, red faced and embarrassed and Junsu stood there with a stiff face and hands tucked into his pocket; “Um, sorry.”
“That’s okay.” Taeyeon smiled at Junsu and bit her lip nervously.
“Uh, Taeng…where’s Jaejoong Hyung?”
“He’s by the beach house, I think today the restaurant’s going to be ready.”
“Oh okay…”
“Is something the matter, Junsu?” she asked, noticing how paled out he looked.
“Oh no, nothing. I just wanted to meet Jaejoong Hyung. Anyway, I’ll meet you guys later.”
And with a fleeting look, he walked out of the doors.
“Taeng…” Yunho called out to Taeyeon.
“Yeah?”
“Make me a sandwich, I am hungry.”
“Okay.”
-
Junsu walked into the beach house where Jaejoong was and smiled at him; “Hey Hyung.”
“Oh! Junsu, hi! Wasn’t expecting to see you here…” Jaejoong jolted up from studying his blueprints.
“Yeah, I went to meet Taeyeon and she was getting intimate with her boyfriend and well yeah.” Junsu shrugged, not noticing how pale Jaejoong had gotten at the mention of ‘Taeyeon’s boyfriend.’
“Junsu, are you okay? You don’t look all that good.” Jaejoong asked, grasping Junsu’s arm.
“I can’t believe Taeyeon’s getting married, Hyung. She’s getting married.”
“Yes well, she had too, one day.”
“Yes, but I thought that day would never come, you know? Like she was always supposed to be around us, with us, a part of us…I refuse to accept that she’s going away…it’s so blah, you know?”
Jaejoong chuckled; “Yes, it is very blah, I understand.”
“Dammit, I never thought Taeyeon would go away.” Junsu mumbled and Jaejoong stared at him.
“Junsu…”
“Hm…”
“You’re in love with her, aren’t you?”
-
Yunho stared at the sandwich in front of him, it had tomatoes in them.
This wasn’t right.
This was all wrong.
Yoochun’s voice echoed back in his mind; “Just be sure of what you’re doing, okay?”
Till last night, he knew what he was doing. He knew what was happening, he knew he was doing the right thing. But now, he wasn’t too sure.
In fact, he wasn’t sure at all.
“Is something wrong?” Taeyeon asked, leaning on the counter.
“Uh, no…I was just thinking about something.”
Taeyeon smiled and walked up to the refrigerator; Please Taeng, ask me if I want orange juice, Taeyeon, please. Yunho thought as she pulled opened the door.
“Hey Yunho, want some soda?”
Dammit.
