I don't think it's fair for every once in a while your project gets fucked up just to make sure you know that wood has a bigger dick then you.

Well, that's its nature. You gotta seduce it into the shape you want, and even then, it has to be the shape it wants as well. This is something I only learned after years of whittling and why, to this day, I prefer working in clay and resin.

Pertaining to wood...this is what makes buying a guitar such a pain in the ass. The wood affects both acoustic AND electric guitars in huge ways. If you buy one online, it's like guitar roulette.

The sculpture room in the Art Department is so dry that you must clamp it to the tables OR ELSE! it will warp and we can't use it because it will fly off the saws and kill us in the face.
