WWU is gorgeous (despite the foot of snow and 1degree windchill right now) We have a rad teaching, art, and journalism depts from what i've heard. I'm a little biased though :) There are a lot of great people here, despite it being a pretty leftist campus. I didn't want to go here because I heard it was such a party school, but our tour guide said "any school is a party school if you are looking for a party" which is true. plus we have a great knitting club(s) here :)
I went to Plu and checked it out, the campus is gross, the food is greasy and it basically sucks there (for what i needed)
SPU is lovely, GREAT food, good people from what I've seen.
chat with me online if you want more info.

i really appreciate the small-scale of my school. i know you're coming from a big high school, so it's not as big of a deal, but coming from the homeschool/community college background, i would have been very overwhelmed at a larger university. i think smaller class sizes are a big benefit. all of my professors know my name and are available if i ever have questions or would like advice. my school is pretty much tiny, but i don't feel confined. i was at western a couple weeks ago for a minus the bear show and it really struck me that i don't know how you make friends at such large schools. obviously people in your dorm, and maybe a few in your classes, but it's not until you get to upper classmen courses do you start seeing repeat classmates, so it would be really hard to get connected.
so that is my two cents, thus i would say either SPU or PLU, but again, ew, tacoma.
