My god. I can't believe I've watched THIS many disturbing films over the past few days. Lets go through the rouster.
The Brothers Grimm - While the film on the whole wasn't THAT scary (the forest did keep me on edge for awhile), the scenes with the horse spider devouring a child and the mudman erasing the childs face stayed with me for a few days afterwards. Brrr!
Se7en - Sloth, Gluttony and Lust were f*cked up man. And Kevin Spacey was nuts!
American Psycho - Christian Bale scared me and amused me as unpresdictable yuppie nutso Patrick Bateman. The chainsaw has got to be the scariest weapon in scary movie history. Never fails to generate terror.
Silent Hill - The scenes with PH will stick with me for some time to come and never go away. And the Janitor as well. I knew with a name like "The Janitor" he had to be either really scary or really funny. And the first hour of the film was scary as hell too.
Hostel - Wow this one was scary. Three dumb guys looking for sex and instead they get systematically killed. It generated terror and a whole "They are all against you feeling." A torture factory is just fucked up. This really shows you just how fucked up keeping a place like Abu Ghraib in commission is. Good use of the chainsaw to generate terror. And the blowtorching of the Chinese woman was screwed up too.
Next vacation I need to pick comedy as my theme. I'll probably have nightmares for months now.
