I just watched South Parks "Scientology" episode... ROLMAO!!! This is a must see. They actually did their homework. In this episode they described some of the basic "low level" teachings of Scientology (and the ridiculousness of them).

The funniest part of the show was when they described the Xenu incidentBut last night it hit me ( Read more... )

The Nephilim theory of demons is interesting. I haven't heard that before. I always assumed that demons were among the fallen angels thrown out of heaven with Lucifer, but I can't back that up biblically. L. Ron Hubbard could have been posessed, or he could have ripped off the ideas from Enoch. I think these outward obvious attacks of Evil are less frightening than the subtle ones. Why don't we see more crazy Evil spirit activity in the U.S.? Maybe it's because we would find some scientific way of disproving it and the subtle strategies (the idea that we are our own gods for instance) are more effective.

I know the Bible says that Evil prowls around the earth looking for a spirit to devour, but I wonder exactly how that works. I imagine it's like the screwtape letters, but that's because I read the book.

Hmmm

Fallen angels are super powerful, demons are not. L. Ron was most likely demonized. Demons are probably very old and wise (and smarter than us), but wicked.

It is interesting to hear from 3rd world missionaries. Demons reveal themselves in which ever way supports the local pagan god. For example, in this country the prevailing pagan god is rationality (the spiritual world doesn't exist). In fact some believe that the emergence of fantasy in pop culture is a direct result of the hunger people have from suppressing spiritual reality in our daily lives. Demons generally "reveal" themselves in ways that can be explained rationally. Conversely, in India and Africa the pagan gods are more conventional (ie witchdoctors, idols). Often you will here real stories of magic and whatnot. Of course, you will here stories of angels too. ...pretty wild.
