Coming our way in just over a week...

Had a long chat with the puppies' breeder this morning and it's official that this little guy is going to be the pup I pick up on my way home from Vancouver!
As sweet as the other puppy looked in the photos, based on what we saw from many other pictures plus conversations/emails with Hugh, both hubby and I were leaning toward this fella as our pick so this news is very good. I'll be flying home from the convention on the 30th but stopping in Winnipeg to pick up the puppy and then carry on to Toronto where the hubby will be picking us up and taking us home.
I'm not sure what I'm more stoked about, PUPPY!!! or GORGEOUS SPN MEN!!! Heeeee. I'm so glad I don't have to choose *g*
On a slightly more bittersweet note, I decided I wanted to post this picture too...

It's of
Boomer, our grand old man of 14.5 years, taken just recently by my good friend and next door neighbor, Janet. Boom has slowed down dramatically over the last few years; I go into every vet visit with him bracing myself for bad news because he just seems so old, has for about 2 years now. Certainly "older" at this age than both
Dempsey &
Tucker were. But, his blood-work is still good, as are his heart and lungs and, when I took him and
Flurry for a walk yesterday he took the lead the whole way. I don't get to see him that perky and bright very often but Janet was fortunate enough to capture him during one of these moments too. I don't write about my dogs all that frequently and, it's quite possible the next time I write about Boom, it will be a memorial for him... Anyway, I love his smile here so wanted to share it with you too.
Oh, and on a completely different note... somebody tell me to stop procrastinating, get my shit together and start packing for this trip!! I'll be in the air Monday and away for an entire week. And I don't need to bring *that* many pair of shoes!!!
