Though it doesn’t come at all as a surprise these days in my household, it’s happening again…
Flurry has a large mass in her chest. Tests/x-rays taken on Saturday were sent to a cardiologist and she ruled out the heart but, without a biopsy, we won’t really know what it is and, at her age, we won’t be doing the biopsy. If you've read
my intro to Flurry, you know that money isn't at all the issue. She’s closer now to her 15th birthday than her 14th after all and, no matter what it is, we won’t risk putting her under and removing it so no point really in doing the biopsy. All we’re going to do at this point is treat her cough, or treat her palliatively as my vet called it… which sounds more ominous and damn depressing ::sigh::
Anyway, aside from the cough (that turns nasty when she gets rolling), she’s still quite perky and incredibly bright-eyed for her age and I wanted to capture that for posterity’s sake. So, I’m sharing these pictures of my fluffy old girl, taken Saturday in my backyard after our vet trip.
I liked the lighting for these taken on my back deck. She was getting bored for the second one. The next two just show her adorable, fuzzy face:
On a positive note, it’s so lovely reading the pro season 7 squee I’m seeing on my flist. I wish I could share it… though I’ve enjoyed the eps quite a bit, I still feel this disconnect that I can’t shake. The general fandom squee is definitely refreshing though. Here’s hoping it’ll last through the season!
Oh, and speaking of fandom… Tomorrow I’m dragging my non-SPN-watching sister to the Toronto Creation con for the weekend. Let me know if any of you are going to be there! I have a laptop now (squee) so will have it with me ;)
