Ha ha people always think I'm younger than I am because of the knowledge of anime and manga and all. They assume that only the younger generation knows anything about it because it's popular with them right now. But yes, back in HS... In the first 2 years it was really just 2 friends and I who knew about Sailor Moon and a few others then the group grew to maybe 5 or so for the last 2 years. It's pretty cool though that conventions have resurrected the almost lost art of sewing. I remember early conventions seeing costumes that were stapled together lol! Stitch witchery sticking out between seams XD.

My mom was a Queen fan, so it rubbed off a bit on me... Freddie's vocal range intimidates me though lol, you know how I HAVE to sing along.

Yeah it's cool to be a geek/nerd these days, it seems... the obscure becoming anything but. Knowing Gackt will be playing in town in the fall gives me a bit of hope (most other japanese acts have been getting cancelled sadly)-- I'd love for FAKE? or Oblivion Dust to make it big internationally. I'm glad Laruku and VAMPS have been able to tour a bit outside of Japan, and I hope that that success rubs off on the other great bands we love.

That is super exciting that a show has made it to your area! It really does give hope for the future. You should go see Gackt if only to show support for J-rock in general ;). If he has a good audience, maybe it will influence others to travel your way too! (That and you were a fan at one point. It would be well worth it to see him live.) We're still hoping for something in the US at some point since he keeps saying that he wants to do a live here. Probably likely that it will be either LA or NY if he does ( ... )

I'm seriously considering it, just waiting to see what the damage is going to be with the ticket price. I'd be happy if they sold-out crazy fast (meaning big interest and many fans), but then again if it wasn't so instant, I could make sure I have enough disposable cash before I order a ticket. :P

Hahah, yeah, the high note voice cracking kills me. I can sing in front of Molly (who tells me to be quiet) and the meatball (who usually has his headphones on anyway). In front of my bro and sis, yeah, sometimes. When I was younger, I lived off of the radio. Didn't have a lot of cash to blow on cassettes, and I didn't have a computer yet-- so most times I'd spend the afternoon, from coming home until going to bed, listening to my favorite alternative rock station. So much that my sister would comment on my voice when it started to sound like I was coming down with a cold.

Usually international shows don't sell out as fast as Japan based ones just because a lot of people are trying to figure out if they can make it to that location. Or if they can afford to make it. But if it's a good crowd, then at least he'll now it's worth being there :D.

Ah radio! Living in Florida, we only had oldies on the radio until I was a little older and had a tape player and stopped listening to the radio. I always liked the oldies though. Even when we got a non-oldies station, it was mostly music that I didn't care for and the DJ was a complete idiot-ass. A school friend's mother even tried to make me listen to popular music saying that I was weird for liking what I liked. But I sure didn't like the stuff she wanted me to listen to :P.
